I'm gonna be on TV
 

About 2-3 months ago, my friends and I were approached by two MTV recruiters. They asked us if we'd audition for an upcoming dating show called 'Next.' We all reluctantly went, partly because it was our Winter break and we didnt have anything better to do. From that audition, I made the cut.

A week or two later, the harrassment from MTV casting began. I kept ignoring it, because I had no interest in doing some stupid dating show. Day in, day out, they would call me at least 3 times -- talk about harassment haha.

After weeks of this, I finally gave in, 2 days before the scheduled shooting date, and signed the participation agreement.

Days later, they taped the episode around the Hollywood/ Los Feliz/ Pasadena area here in SoCal

I got word yesterday that it will be airing Friday April 8th, at 4:30pm PST and EST

A few things about the show: some of the lines were fed to me, and that sucked. People who know me will find it really easy to notice what lines are real and what lines are fed.

There are some corny ass 'compliments' i had to feed to the lady, so thats gonna come out extremely lame --- but i hardly give a shit heh

mtv describes it as a "speed dating" show. Myself and 4 other guys [shown above] were competing for one girl

And aren't we all surprised, MTV is doing another show that has literally nothing to do with music! (unless the contestants are band members?)

That said, I still plan on watching it just so I can be part of the discussion after it airs :)

i can't wait to watch the show, even though i haven't watched MTV since kevin smith hosted 120 minutes. perhaps i'm not the target any longer.

Its always so obvious that the lines people say on these type of programmes are scripted , didnt need to have anyone admit it to know that.

But its going to be cool to watch it and 'know' one of the guys involved. Hope you won :thumbsup:

ahhh....I'm so proud that my friend is part of the machine that is MTV, and is helping in the bastardizing of the concept of courtship.

Ok, its 2am tuesday morning here in LA, and I just saw a re-run of the first episode [which aired monday at 4:30pm]

what a fucking horrible show hahaha. first of all, i'm only going to be on for 15 minutes, and not the entire 30 [they do two sets per episode], and im so thankful for that.

The fed lines that some of these guys said sounded so ridiculous, so mine are gonna sound as pathetic

haha all in all, i really dont care though, im looking forward to seeing it air this friday

haha. man oh man, that show was awful. so awful that I'm definitely going to catch the replay tonight at 1:30.

oh man, for all the TFPers who didn't catch it...it's very much worth the watch despite being a steaming pile of MTV bullshit. Eric's one-liners in the show are well worth the watch.

Crap! I forgot all about it (again). I missed the first showing by an hour too. Looking forward to the DL. All us LA folks should have had a premiere party. ;)
