Hmm, I wasn't aware of most of the stuff that's been discussed here but I did know Ford was anti-Semitic. I didn't know much about those other guys being racist either, except I've been told that Edison went on camping trips with Ford where they had black people serving them and they weren't exactly friendly with their help.
You can't just say that Ford Motors is different now because it's run by a different Ford. Depending on the family, hate can be passed down through generations. I'm not saying the company is anti-Semitic now, I'm just saying that there's no more reason to believe they have changed than there is to believe they are the same.. We don't know the Ford family, maybe they bring groceries to old disabled Jewish ladies or maybe they sit at the dinner table complaining that Jews are the problem with America..
Personally, I don't like Ford cars because I think they're crappy. Because of things like the Pinto, and the rollovers and tire blowouts a few years ago. You can't let dozens of crashes/disasters happen and not issue a recall or warning. Unless, of course, you're willing to have safety regulations so loose that it costs lives because you're only in business to make money.
No, nobody's perfect. Lots of people make a bad decision once in a while and cheat on a test, shoplift some gum, or start a fight. There's quite a big difference between stealing gum and armed robbery, and the same between hitting somebody and going on a killing spree. And if you read a little bit of this thread and some of the links people have posted, you'll see that Ford didn't just make a few racist comments, he published books about how bad he thought Jews were, and, according to evidence collected by the US military etc., helped Nazis a great deal. He didn't make small mistakes, he conciously made efforts to cause bad things to happen to Jews.
