Sensory overload?

Years ago when I got of Lortab I experienced my first 'sensory overload'. For those who don't know, its hard to explain and probably different for everyone. From what I remember.. think of this:

imagine you've been blind for a few years then can see totally. everything hits your eyes at once. not like bright to hurt the eyes, just the sheer.. awareness of everything at one time... sensory overload

unfortunatly i cannot think of much more of what happened right now, all the things that happened except i thought i had lost my mind for a bit.

the most surprising thing, to me, though is it happens to many people quite often.

anybody else have these episodes? mind sharing?

there are times when i am affected by an aural overload... i am very affected by music, and my ex used to love this incredibly bleak gothish emo band... i decided to give it a listen and after a few minutes of the shit i had to shut everything off and have complete silence... they pervaded my brain and completely set me over the edge. it's also happened once when i was in vegas. me and my sweetehart and her friend were at teh pairs casino and we had gotten separated... i was tired, i hadn't gotten alot of sleep after driving all the way out, and i just wanted to go back to the hotel and crash for sleep... the combination of exhaustion, the lights, the noise from the machines, and the masses of people set me over the edge and i just about collapsed when i found my sweetheart. it wasn't a fun experience.

me and Quo8 went to see the Smashing Pumpkins before they disbanded on 2001 and i had the same thing happen to me, phred. i was overly hot and simply overpowered by some everything and didn't realize it. i don't know if it scared me or Q the most. He saw me staring off and shook me - no response for a bit. i rememberseeing and hearing him but being paralized then boom - back in control.

A couple weeks ago I was at the OneDay03 festival in Texas. It was a huge Christian thing for people between 17-26. I went there thinking it would just be a cool experience, but I left there with a totally new outlook on life. It hit me harder than you could believe without actually having been there.
