Compile a Resume lately?

Mine is just horrific. Any good places online to use as samples? I have trouble making jobs like "phone operator" and "camp counselor" sound intriguing on a resume. Do you just exaggerate or what's the trick?

What I'm in the process of doing right now is toning my resume to the point where depending on what my focus is, those are the elements that are emphasized. You really need to know who your audience is going to be, because they're only interested in the things that apply to their field. The rest can be icing on the cake that'll give you an edge over someone else, but if you don't have the meat of what they're looking for, you may be passed over. The hardest part is making that information quickly and easily apparent to them.

As far as online samples, a quicky google search came up with this:

Might be a place to start.

that was great, thank you. What do you have as your objective? It seems like such a tricky answer. My objective is to one day to be invovled in a large capacity(directing, producing and etc) in televised sports events. How do I turn that into a good resume objective?

'my long-term objective is to learn as much as possible about all aspects of television production, particularly in sports broadcasting.to that end, I am blah blah blah'(attending school, interning at suchandsuch, whatever)
that might work.

It isn't supposed to be a best seller, when an interviewer is pouring over stacks of resumes, they don't want to wade through bullshit. Make it brief and to the point.[/quote]

Never. Do not set yourself up to be asked a question that shows you are full of crap. If you operated a 48" vertical lathe making tank turret components during WWII, say on your resume that you ran a 48" vertical lathe between June, 1942 and April, 1945. If the interviewer wants to know more, they will ask it.
