When you slumber...

When you sleep do you...

Snore?
Talk?
Kick?
Bite?
Walk?
Work??

SecretMethod70 04-20-2003 01:46 AM

I used to move around a LOT. Now I find that I almost don't move at all. As far as I know I don't do anything else interesting.

World's King 04-20-2003 01:47 AM

Drool

I'm not proud of it

snowy 04-20-2003 01:59 AM

i evidently snore, much to my dismay...:( but according to male sources it's cute. so i guess i can take some comfort in that.

i used to talk in my sleep frequently but i think that's gone away with time.

i also evidently kick in my sleep occasionally.

yes, i drool as well from time to time...i find those are the nights where you're the most relaxed and sleep the best.

my mother, however, is terrible--she sleepwalks constantly, talks up a storm, and snores to boot. She frequently sleepwalks into the kitchen, pulls food from the cupboards, and then stores it by her bed. she also eats while asleep. very strange.

Thats great, I actually burst out laughing.
Also, I forgot drooling, I usually sleep like a baby but the other morning I woke up with a pool of cold drool on my pillow, Guuuuuu!

Supradog 04-20-2003 02:34 AM

Bah, I snore. Apperantly not as loud as my father does but i bet i'll get better at it over time :(

Ashton 04-20-2003 02:43 AM

I sleep like the undead....except I roll from one side to the next, good thing I have a king sized coffin

apetaster 04-20-2003 04:06 AM

Speak jibberish and fart uncontrollably, according to my wife. I am quite the catch.

Grondar 04-20-2003 04:43 AM

I don't snore, and I can wake up instantly upon hearing the smallest noise.

This is a little annoying as I have many days when I get up at 5 AM despite me having no logical reason to. :)

I am laughing, fart uncontrolably, Uiggh, thats brilliant.
My dad and his missus and thier dog snore like like deisel trains, I have to turn the Tv up when two or more of them fall astleep.

ratbastid 04-20-2003 04:55 AM

I mostly just sleep.

I used to hum in my sleep, though. In college, I'd sometimes wake myself up humming.

Binder 04-20-2003 05:13 AM

i believe that i just lay still and sleep peacefully.

however my wife believes that i roll around, snore, and occasionally talk.

i know i don't work while i'm sleeping, but i have been accused of sleeping while working.

i8one2 04-20-2003 05:18 AM

I make a blanket nest and spoon

sixate 04-20-2003 05:20 AM

I only drool once in a while. Nothing sucks more than waking up with your pillow stuck to your face.

*Nikki* 04-20-2003 05:23 AM

As far as I know I am a perfect angel:)

rogue49 04-20-2003 05:59 AM

I toss & turn, when I'm alone.
When I'm not alone, I sleep in perfect contentment.:)

bundy 04-20-2003 06:10 AM

i drool and snore.
pretty bad combo, huh!

Mad_Gecko 04-20-2003 06:11 AM

Snore when drunk...

Used to be a raver in bed but thats gone away. Y'know making the box and stuff. Think previous girlfriends beat me til I stopped. (mighta done it just for the beatin' :D )

I wake up loads and not just from noise. Very annoying when you wake up 45 mins b4 the alarm goes off 'cause ya haven't got the time to go back to sleep.

Funny enough whistle, but thats from my dodgy smoking lungs.

sapiens 04-20-2003 06:25 AM

I used to grind my teeth a lot. When I was younger, I could wake up my parents in the next room with my teeth grinding. Once I moved out of my parents house, my teeth grinding decreased considerably.

Mupwah 04-20-2003 06:32 AM

Only snore after drinking.

Zotz 04-20-2003 08:24 AM

Snore......loud and clear.

a1t3r3g0 04-20-2003 08:29 AM

I move around a lot in bed... I can go to sleep in one spot on my bed with my sheets/comforter on my, and wake up in a completely different spot with the sheets most often kicked off the side of my bed, and my pillow no where to be seen.

Although, that is back home with my queen sized bed. Here in my dorm with my twin sized bed, I don't have that problem at all. I just have a problem falling asleep on such a small, uncomfortable bed.

Quadraton 04-20-2003 08:36 AM

I sleep like I passed on to the afterlife. I think it comes from having to sleep in military beds, and not wanting to mess it up too badly before the next morning's inspection.

Gonzonia 04-20-2003 09:09 AM

All of the above. All at once when I can.

crazycousinjim 04-20-2003 09:13 AM

NO dreams? No nocturnal longings? that is kinda sad...:(

Hitchcock 04-20-2003 01:32 PM

I snore...and dream.

Somenosuke 04-20-2003 01:33 PM

I dream a LOT, toss and turn, and that's about it. ^_^

Jack Ruby 04-20-2003 03:50 PM

I dream and drool practically every night.

dimbulb 04-20-2003 05:45 PM

drool....

so much so that i have to flip the pillow over in the middle of the night, coz i ran out of dry spots on the pillow....

heh

Frosstbyte 04-20-2003 05:53 PM

I sleep like the dead. I don't talk, I don't move and (to the best of my knowledge) I don't snore. I have no idea if that's good or not. I drooled when I was younger, but not so much anymore.

degrawj 04-20-2003 05:54 PM

i've been sweating a lot lately. it's not much fun. but i can't find a way to stop it!!! even if i wake up, and i am freezing cold because my covers came off, i am still sweaty. it totally sucks.

Atropos4 04-20-2003 07:08 PM

i cry and fend off what ever may be attacking me in my dreams which freaks alpha phi out ....he worries and gently wakes me up and tells me i'm ok....my mom says i've done that since i was little...i don't do it all the time...i go through spurts
other than that and dreaming...oh wait....

kind of embarrassing but alpha phi says that quite a few times i've gotten up to use the bathroom and when i didn't come back he came to check on me and i was asleep on the toilet..resting my head on the counter across from me (small bathroom) ...he said he just wakes me up and i come back to bed...but i don't remember any of those incidences.

phunktastic 04-20-2003 07:14 PM

Apparently I used to talk, but now I think I remain fairly calm.

Anybody else ever get paranoid that they say bad things in their sleep or do crazy stuff that people are afraid to approach you about? Or am I just overly paranoid?

Macheath 04-20-2003 08:15 PM

Snore and snore and have the most brilliant dreams.

BTW, a sleep talker is called a somniloquist.

phoenix1002 04-20-2003 08:24 PM

Hmm... I apparently talk every once in a while, usually just a few words. I don't know if I snore or not, cause I'm usually asleep long after my roommate is, but I never had anyone say I do. I don't think I roll around that much, though I do occasionally wake up to find I was sleeping on an arm, which of course is completely numb. I hate that....
Oh, and I drool occasionally, especially if I fall asleep on my stomach.

And don't worry phunktastic, I'm also kinda paranoid that I'll say or do something bad or crazy in my sleep when people are around... but if I do, they haven't told me yet. Maybe I should just get a camera and record myself sleeping... then I would know... ;)

MSD 04-20-2003 08:33 PM

I drool sometimes, and I kick, I have a hole in my wall to prove it. Don't know about tlaking or snoring. I've sleepwalked a couple of times, but not recently. I once woke up from a dream about flying and felt my nose on the ceiling, only to fall six feet onto my bed. I am sure I wasn't dreaming because it woke my mom and dad in the next room.

And phoenix1002, when I was at your house, you did snore a bit, but not loudly to bother me from across the room.

laughter 04-20-2003 08:42 PM

I talk. But I apparently sit up and do so with my eyes wide open, staring at whomever happens to be sleeping beside me. And I don't speak english. I'd really like to listen to this, but...

Strawberry69666 04-20-2003 09:16 PM

I drowl, and I snore a little. I talk, well...more of a mumbble. But I do a lot of odd things. Somehow my family is infautated with going to the bathroom in there sleep. My other brother took a piss in the garage when he was asleep...LoL!

onodrim 04-20-2003 10:06 PM

I don't do anything unusual really. I might move from one sideto the other, but thats about it. I used to talk i my sleep when I was younger, but apparently I ahven't now for quite a few years.

"Now I find that I almost don't move at all. As far as I know I don't do anything else interesting." - SecretMethod70

Don't move at all? Don't do anything intersting? Speaking as someone who's slept with you (the innocent kind :)) - you move, trust me. And I'd say you've done an intersting thing or two ;)

Lebell 04-20-2003 10:08 PM

I used to snore like a buzz saw, but then I was diagnosed with sleep apnea, now I have a CPAP unit and just a quiet hmmm :)

darksparkles 04-20-2003 11:49 PM

Snore? sometimes, a tiny bit.
Talk? YES. and yell and sing.
Kick? i used to, i don't think i do anymore.
Bite? yes.
Walk? not that i know of.
Work? once again, not that i know of. heheh.

Phaenx 04-20-2003 11:50 PM

I've been told I have conversations with myself whilst I sleep. I didn't believe it until someone video taped it.

Sun Tzu 04-21-2003 12:28 AM

Yes

Spanky Johnson 04-21-2003 05:43 PM

I don't do this much anymore, but when I was younger I used to combine sleepwalking with these weird nightmares where I'd dream that I was in the room I was really sleeping in and there was some threat there which I would react to by trying to get away, fight, whatever. My college roommate that I shared a townhouse with tells me he'll never forget the night I came barreling down the stairs yelling about a wolf in the closet as he and his girlfriend were making out on the couch downstairs.

Part of the problem was that since I usually dreamed that I was in the same room I was really in, I often couldn't tell that the dream was over and there was nothing there.

warrrreagl 05-19-2003 09:55 AM

I used to snore and wake up my wife. She discovered that whenever I fell asleep in a chair, I never snored.

WhoaitsZ 05-19-2003 10:12 AM

my sleep pattern is just about completely unravled. i have pretty bad insomnia...

when i sleep I drool.. which is so embarresing, but since I rarely sleep, when I -do- sleep, my body relaxes and the mouth opens everytime.

i use to talk in my sleep all the time. now i'm known to talk just when i'm sick or worried about a pet (which is fairly routined). I can't walk so thats out :) i've been known to snore lightly when in deep sleep..
thats about it.

ironman 05-19-2003 12:14 PM

Fart

clavus 05-19-2003 12:50 PM

I grind my teeth. Hard.

I used to wake up with tooth debris in my mouth. Now I wear an "appliance."

Quadraton 05-19-2003 12:56 PM

Quiet as a mouse.
Still as a rock.

Unlike my Dad and my brother who could both shake buildings from their foundations when they snore.

krwlz 05-19-2003 06:09 PM

snore loudly, kick violently, i used to have one of those top sheet thats sewed to the bottom sheets....and i ripped it off one night kicking

silverback 05-19-2003 07:09 PM

Im told i snore very badly. ive had my nose broken several times and i guess that may be why

guthmund 05-19-2003 07:52 PM

I've stayed in many hotels. More than once, the manager has had complaints from other guests about my snoring.

mtsgsd 05-20-2003 04:49 AM

Mostly I fart and hit my wife in the head when I roll over(according to her). Luckily, I'm blissfully unaware of this. :)

nash 05-20-2003 11:50 AM

I've thought about videotaping myself sleeping, but then wouldn't I have to sit through all 6-8hrs of watching myself sleep? Even if played at 2x that's still a lot of time...

Minx 05-20-2003 02:50 PM

I've been told I snore but I sleep alone :( and my dog doesn't complain so....

Janie 05-20-2003 03:50 PM

I might snore, and I know I drool if I'm napping on the couch in front of the telly. Sometimes I wake up with the blanket going horizontally, which is the greatest inconvenience. (My feet get cold).

My youngest brother is a whole nother story. When he's sleeping, you can expect anything and everything. Sleepwalking, check. Mumbling, check. Drooling, snoring, and lots of kicking. One time I tried to get him to his bed, and he got up, grabbed the phone, and started yanking it towards him. I think he got the impression that the phone was his blanket. Don't know how, the two aren't overly similar in sight or in touch.

already jumped 05-20-2003 04:41 PM

Snore, lose blankets to girlfriend, and for some reason dream about my teeth falling out...

aj...

raeanna74 05-21-2003 03:48 AM

I rarely move at all when I sleep but I talk all the time. I have friends who say that I just never stop talking. My daughter even talks in her sleep. She moves around more though. Hubby is wild in bed (in more ways than one, he he) he also has night terrors and he snores loudly. The three of us are terrible to sleep around. lol We're a noisy bunch.

Meridae'n 05-21-2003 03:52 AM

Always being accused of snoring, so i guess i'll say that i'm one of those blokes too. Pretty boring sleeper apart from that... oh yeah, for some strange reason i seem to fall out of the left side of the bed when i'm pissed

Cynthetiq 05-21-2003 07:06 AM

if I do sleep... I can snore pretty well...otherwise, I try to cuddle.

At least I know that I'm not alone. I don't know how severe your apnea is, but mine is bad enough that they put me on the CPAP on an emergency basis. I've been using it for over 15 years and it's nice to finally sleep.

denim 05-21-2003 07:27 AM

Note that serious snoring can be the sign of a medical problem. If you've been kicked out of bed because of how loud you snore, or you wake yourself up with your snoring, or you're tired all the time, you should bring this topic up with your doctor, as it can be a sign of sleep apnea.

Relaxing, innit? I think it's the white noise as well as the ability to SLEEP PROPERLY that does it. :)

If there's a real reason to do this, a sleep study can be ordered by your doctor. Then it's the doctor's problem. :)

i snore a great deal, and i toss and turn endlessly.. i occasiosonaly moan/talk and when i was but a wee lad, i used to get up and go to the bathroom without waking up...

Wow, I thought I was the only one with those dreams. It's really freaky to be dreaming that your teeth are falling out, especially since it feels ultra-real for me.

meembo 05-21-2003 04:00 PM

snore on my back -- otherwise virtually dead

Frowning Budah 05-21-2003 04:18 PM

Snore, talk, gasp, scream I do it all. My wife and I sleep in separate bedrooms now cause she does the same thing.

I thought I was the only one to wake up with the WetSpot by my head. Also snoring. yeah(shakes head) I used to bring home earplugs from work for my girlfriend.

I Used To Dream....best part of sleep. Theta!

ARTelevision 05-21-2003 05:42 PM

I'd call it work, given your choices.

For me, work is what my life is about - art work

Specifically, at night, I do dream work

This is true.

QuasiMojo 05-21-2003 06:24 PM

I've found that I need to keep a schedule to approach the dreamstates that I used to have.
I used to have great theta sleep archtype dreams but I find that as I grow older that they've slipped away!

Leander 05-21-2003 06:42 PM

Although I have never found myself talking, snoring, farting or drooling in my sleep, my wife begs to differ. She also says that every so often when I sleep on my back I stretch both of my arms up in the air and flap my hands. Of course, I believe this to be total bs.

FuddMan 05-24-2003 01:38 PM

I'm quiet, but I move and fall off even king size beds

mew 05-24-2003 09:00 PM

I kick and move my arms and hands around. My cat who sleeps with me usually doesnt sleep with me long cause it gets beaten up. Im a realy bruce lee in bed-though my bf says ive never hit him..though I apparently kneed him in the nads once-ouch.

I used to talk and snore a bit. I occasionally drool when i get to hot.

Oh! I also cry and whimper in my sleep a lot. Dont know why..
