Yeah I used to Febreeze my old housemate when he fell asleep on the couch. The guy just smelled like his cat and cigarettes and some funky, unknown odor.

A funny note on this: my roommate had a friend who came up to stay for a weekend. Within 5 seconds of talking to George he began to repeat, "You fucking stink, get the hell out." If George ever walked into the room at all that weekend my roommate's friend would say something to the affect of, "Jesus, did something die in here?" Eventually George just asked to my roommate, "Hey, what time is your friend leaving?" and my roommate replied, "Saturday night probably," to which George replied, "Ok, see you Sunday."

Other people in the hall have resorted to similiar tactics but George doesn't pay any attention to them, he believes they are just making fun of him. He is too pig-headed in his ways to believe anyone. In talking to him this weekend I learned that on average he takes maybe 6 showers a week. I told him straight to his face, completely serious, "Double it." Repeatedly. "No, seriously, double it and maybe people won't make fun of you." "Seriously George, just try it." "George, I'm telling you, just take a shower everytime [a guy on our floor who takes about 4 showers a day] takes one and they'll stop teasing you."

You couldn't pound a message through his head with a jackhammer.

ahh, winter break is here and i get to go a whole month without the smell of dyin g animals in my room, YAY!. When i get back, i think we should have george's room fumigated by one of those biohazard companies, the kind that clean of nuclear spills and such.

This is sooo sad. That he wouldn't get it when youu repeated yourself so many times. It's hard to like someone like that. For all we know he could be a cool guy if he would pay attention to what people say more. NO matter what people are saying - if you constantly ignore them and refuse to take them seriously then they loose respect for you. If only he could see this. I almost see his behavior as a lack of respect for others. Makes you wonder how it was for him growing up. Not to always turn the blame on the parents but they can make such an impact on a child's development. Sometimes wish we could turn back time even to change someone like this.

Get the whole floor to tie him up in the bathroom, then powder him til he looks like a gold bond snowman.

Oh well, the next step (this is half a joke and half not) is to set his sprinkler off....its 35 gallons per minute, so if we toss in an open shampoo container and hi the sprinkler its a massive power shower....the issue we get into is liability for his posessions if they are damaged etc so this idea will probably not take place.

Not to mention the fact that the water in those pipes has been in there since the last time it was flushed out (maybe once a year where I went to school) and smells like rotten ass when it comes out.

It sucks that he has bad BO, but at least he's showering now. There really isn't anything the RA's can do about it, especially if he is showering on a semi-regular basis. My brother's about 380 and tends to have a little bit of the same funk going on, regardless of how many showers he takes. Do you have any idea how often he changes/washes his bedding? Regularly cleaned clothes and laundry might significantly cut down on the smell.

Actually, the water in the sprinkler system has never been flushed out. The sprinkler system was just added over the summer before we all moved in. Whoever sets off the sprinkler system first will be coated in black crap that will not was off for at least a few days.

About George, it's questionable to how often he does laundry, most of the time if he goes and changes he'll come back and the new shirt he will be wearing will be stained in some shape or form. I haven't seen his bedding, but just taking a random guess, I would say he doesn't even know that you should wash your bedding.

wow I feel bad for you guys lol... you'd think someone would get the hint when your roommate moves out.

If I were you seriously I wouldn't let him in my room. Crack the door and tell him to get the hell away :P

edit... btw what kinda dog is that? (it is a dog right? :P)

GetRdone 12-23-2004 08:58 AM

hahah, its a shitzu (sp), my roomate (BigGov) really really wants one since we found that picture.

BigGov 12-23-2004 08:59 AM

Well, his roommate really surprised us when he left. He looks like the definition of a wigger, he is pale as the fresh snow on the ground, meanwhile he wears Shady brand clothing and a hat at a 45 degree angle, not a person that seems like the caring type.

So, when he left, he didn't throw a big fit, he didn't start yelling at him saying he was a stupid republican or anything. Instead he lied and said he was moving in with a friend so as not to hurt George's feelings. I was personally surprised.

As to the type of dog, I didn't know, so I created this thread: http://www.tfproject.org/tfp/showthread.php?t=78768

We had some very fat people in the hospital I used to work at in high school. Many of these overweight people couldn't reach their feet let alone their crotches... many also had trouble cleaning between the rolls of fat.

Perhaps he needs a wash cloth on a stick...

flat5 12-23-2004 10:12 AM

If he showers six times a week, I think he needs to see a doctor.
I know nothing but he may have a skin fungus or bacteria.
His sweat glands may be removing toxins overtime.

Just guessing

510cut 12-23-2004 01:12 PM

ahh aww the dog looks hella cute except I'm not a fan over the exessive hair when they grow up :P haha guess the dog I'm getting after college is still going to be a japanese chin.

lol yea if he showers 6 times a week... thats pretty normal lol. I shower between 6-7 times a week during the winter.. maybe double that during the summer or if i actually get my lazy ass to the gym. :P

haha I think I woulda made up some lie too if I was moving out..

Blackthorn 12-23-2004 07:53 PM

Ya know in the spirit of Christmas you could get this poor chap a care package of Irish Spring or Lever 2000 (since his 2000 parts are larger than average). You could also include some English Leather cologne but that in fact may end up being worse or at least as bad as the original odorifours eminations...:D

Seriously...help the brother out and make it clear to him that he needs to wash himself on a regular basis.
