I flew from Perth to Sydney today. 4,000Km for a 60 minute meeting tomorrow. That's nothing, the guy who I'm meeting just flew in from LA. That's about 10,000Km. He better have something fucking interesting to say.

There was a storm over Sydney. Storm is putting it mildly. It was as if Thor and Zeus had got into a piss-fight about who was the baddest ass of all and tried to prove it by knocking down the big metal bird my sorry ass was in.

For a while, I honestly thought I was going to die. Silly really. But I don't particularly like flying at the best of times. Add to that the fact that the guy beside me, behind me and beside him all barfed, not to mention many more I couldn't see, that the flight deck were terse and worried the few times they did make announcements and that we got hit by lightning at least twice, and you can understand my happiness at making it to the ground eventually. That is, after we redirected to an air-force base 100Km from Sydney at the very last minute (accelarating like a bat out of hell, just to scare the shit out of you even more).

I'll think I'll walk back to fucking Perth. How long would it take?

Well, let's see, 1000 hours, 41.7 days. Walking non-stop. In eight-hour stints (not counting lunch break), you're looking at 125 days o' walking.

Hard luck 'bout you flight, though, hope it's easier when you're coming back home ;)

I had this quote come over the P.A. on a recent flight..."Uhh ladies and gentlemen the problem is essentially fixed so we'll be pulling away from the gate here in about 10 minutes".

Uhh..hell-the-fuck-oh Mr. Pilot...but the problem better be EXACTLY fixed. :D
