Poor dog

My poor dog. We had to leave town early yesterday morning at about 4:00 a.m. to make my moms Hystorectamy(sp?) appointment at 5:30. Thankfully all that went well, no cancer and all and she'll prolly be home in about 4 more days. But we get back home around 9:00 pm and my dog shit in his kennel :|. So I'm thinking "Dammit poor dog couldn't wait any longer better bathe him" so I'm out there outside rinsing his kennel off at 9:30 at night freezing my feet off...then I went inside and gave him a bath...what really sucks is I have to use that tub afterwards! I wake up earlier today to find that the poor little bastard has done it again! It's everywhere! Am I bad to not wanna/not have done anything about it just yet?? Dammit! Anybody want a sable colored Cocker Spaniel? :D NO! Okay I know what I have to do....poor little guy must be sick or sumfin. Well I've got some shit to take care of brb see ya blah ...somebody fuckin kill me please....

Dogs
Asta!!

coulda been worse bud. he could have been dead, and the shit been the last release of his bowels. i commiserate with your situation, but at least the little guy is alive and shitting :)

K-Wise 12-11-2004 01:12 PM

^ Ya know thats a really good and positive way to look at it. Thankfully it seems it may be warm enough to do this shit outside. Well I'd better get to work.

Asta!!

I sympathsize man, I have dogs, and know how it goes. Shitty situation, but someones gotta take care of it.

Cocker Spaniel=pet on head, piss on floor. Had one, never again.

K-Wise 12-12-2004 08:09 PM

He did it again today! He's still drying off in the enclosed patio area. I'm thinking I'm gonna blowdry him this time even if he hates it.

Man o man, shit happens.

Sorry bro. My dog had diarhea in her kennel. Consider yourself lucky. We had to take the poor thing to the hospital. She was on an IV overnight. Cleaning the splatters was the least of my worries. Bill came to $800. But she's alive thank God.

K-Wise 12-12-2004 08:32 PM

^ Damn! I hope he ain't that bad off...he definitely can't hold it in...he keeps either shitting in his kennel or the damn carpet in the patio :|

Asta!!

jorgelito 12-12-2004 08:42 PM

Wait, seriously, how's the stool?

Behavior: Is he crying? Eating drinking? Listless or normal?

jorgelito 12-12-2004 08:43 PM

Is he vomiting? Is the poop normal?

maleficent 12-12-2004 08:44 PM

this the same dog who had parvo or some other doggy disease a while back?

Shpoop 12-12-2004 08:47 PM

may i tell a story?

one morning, around 2:30 AM, i am awoken by the actual sound of my dog's explosive diarreah all over my room. im talking explosive. i lean over the side of my bed to double check, and there sure enough are black lumps scattered across the floor. i tiptoe to the lightswitch, sniffing my way through the maze of feces. what do i see? there are streaks of crap on my floor, one of which is about five feet long. the crap actually goes up the walls in some spaces, as high as two feet up (i told you i was talking explosive). there was also vomit scattered across the floor, apparently having happened before the diarreah. my room is carpeted.

there was absolutely no hyperbole in that story. you, sir, are lucky.

jorgelito 12-12-2004 08:48 PM

Shpoop,

What happened to your dog? What did he have?

Sugar&Spice 12-12-2004 08:50 PM

Sounds just like my dog awhile ago. She was so sick and whenever I came home there would be poop all over her kennel and her. Then one day I came home and it had splattered out of the holes in the kennel and all over the floor. It smelled disgusting. Sad part was she had to stay in her kennel the entire time and couldn't run around the house.

Took her to the vet and she had a bacterial infection from eating something outside.

K-Wise 12-12-2004 08:53 PM

Nope this ones his daddy. His behaviour is the same...he's eating, drinking, etc. No vomiting...his stool is soft though...drippy even as there are small spots here and there on the carpet. Normally he doesn't do that..he usually waits till he'd let out and he doesn't normally have to poop that often...my guess is he ate something that didn't agree with him. Only thing I can think of is this denta-bone we gave him just the night before...our other dog the one that had parvo ate his too though and had no reaction but I imagine it's different for different dogs.

jorgelito 12-12-2004 09:17 PM

Hmmmm....ok, just keep monitoring the situation. Most likely no problemo. Good for you!

william 12-13-2004 07:42 AM

Take the dog to a vet. Most dogs don't shit where they move about. I have a Shar-Pei, and she'll do anything not to go inside. If anything happens inside the home, it's because she's not well.

I concur. Both cats and dogs only change these habits when something is wrong. It could be something as benign as a denta-bone, but maybe not. If his beahviour doesn't change in a couple more days, as a vet.

Peace,

Pierre

Well I take back what I said about the pup having no problems. Last night I decided to leave the boy out of his kennel just in case he shit it again I'd rather it be on the patio carpet than all over him and his kennel...I expected to see the usual splatters from the previous days but instead just a long thin normal stool. Ya know the kind that just lifts right off the floor. But since I figured the puppy was fine I let him sleep in my room last night and I wake up this morning and he had shit a puddle of liquid shit in front of my closet...and another in the corner of my room on top of some old sweat pants I never wear....I was like "DAMMIT!" My room still smells like shit it's making me paranoid I missed some...it's strange cause it's like the little pup tried to do his business away from all my things I have scattered around the floor (My rooms a little messy) he did the same thing with his puke when he had parvo...in the same spots no less. I don't know if he's doing it out of the convenience of not wanting to have a lot of stuff around him when he does his business or if he actually shows geniune concern not to soil my belongings...I'd like to think it's just a convenience thing but most of my other dogs I've had in the past (Just about ALL cockers..this ones a mix of one and a corgi) didn't care where they shit at all. They'd shit right on my shirt if it was on the floor..one of our dogs if you left him alone would even get on the bed and purposely pee on it. So that leaves me to wonder...He's only a year old I don't think he's smart enough that he doesn't want to upset me by messing on my things (he'll sure as hell chew em) but the little guy really does love me. I guess I'll never know. Only connection I know of is they both ate a denta bone...the mother who didn't hasn't had any problems as of yet. But the pups is the same situation as the dad..though his started when his dads ended (I'm assuming it's over since the stool was different this morning) and he's not acting sick..he's still happy and running around jumping, gobbling up his food, drinking shit loads of water and ya know...being a dog he just has liquid shit that I'm guessing he doesn't have a lot of control over if he couldn't wait. Hopefully this will all be over soon...like now :| no more and no longer further inconvenience me with the chore of shit picking. Oh well

Asta!!

Well, when I leave my dogs (incidentally, all cockers) home, alone, cooped up, for long periods of time, they get mad. And how do they show me they get mad? You got it. Could be your dog is trying to tell you "Don't leave me home alone again like that!!!" :) He may now longer be mad at you if he stopped doing it. But there is the scientific side as well. Just a thought, animals have feelings too.

shakran 12-13-2004 08:53 PM

Your dog's been doing this for two days and you haven't taken him to a vet? Why the hell not? The dog is sick. He needs medical attention.

K-Wise 12-13-2004 08:54 PM

He wasn't alone though....I was asleep on my bed. I'd let him sleep up there with me..but it's a twin so it's not that big. Not the first time I've had him in there...had him in there a few other times and he didn't mind...he would however wake me up the next day when he wanted to go out. Little guy is so freakin cute...I've had cockers pretty much as long as I can remember(probably my ideal family dog)..once had a Pomeranian but we gave him away cause he was trying to mate with our girl dog at the time..gave him to grandpa...then one day pops brings home a Corgi...other than that it's pretty much been all cocker spaniels....so for a time we had 2 girls 1 cocker, 1 corgi...I think our cousin sold the girl when we entrusted her to hold on to it while we found a house. Then we went searching for a stud for the girl corgi but couldn't find any males that weren't already sold...then...my mistake I decided to check out the cocker puppies and even worse so...told my mom "You've got to see these cockers!" (She LOVES cocker puppies.) and it was there we spotted the dad of the 1 yr old. He was absolutely fantastic to be honest..really a gorgeous specimen of a dog...huge jowls too...he's a sable (rare) and I don't think the lady knew what she was giving up....his colors are fantastic...sable, blond, black, red...maybe a little brown or tan...it pisses me off though cause Sable cockers aren't recognized by the AKC so we couldn't get him registered :|. We had to have him..well I had to have him my mom wanted him too but we weren't gonna get him..my dad didn't want him the only reason we got him at all was because I agreed to pay for 100 dollars of his price..almost half he was 300. Well without our knowledge he eventually had our Corgi and thats where the 1yr old and the shit puddle I cleaned up from my floor came from :|

Asta!!

In case you didn't read...my mom just had a hystorectamy..we don't have any money to take him to the vet...and he seems fine now...I assume the pup will be soon as well.

Asta!!
