This is a day late; for me at least. But yesterday I was quite happily wandering around in a fugue of mild intoxication. That itself is an indication of my gradual, inexorable progress towards old age, dotage and (horror of horrors!) mature common sense. Even just a few years ago, I would have been falling down drunk.

Oh, to be back in the old country with my cynical, irreverent friends. Friends who think birtdays are, yet another, good excuse to head down the local pub for "a session" and a few "pints of plain"...

There is no cure for birth and death save to enjoy the interval.
