What does an uber look like?
 

I know it's a wierd question but I'm trying to come up with a character for a website and the character is an uber... So what does an uber look like to you guys???

For the few of you that might not know what a uber is it's the highest or most extreme of its kind: ubernerd; to an extreme degree: ubercool; also spelled über

well an "uber" is something pretty hard to draw, since uber literally translate to above. But keep us posted to what you come up with :)

Wow, tough assignment. I'm not the creative artsy kind myself, but I'm definitely looking forward to the results.

Man, I would think that an image for something like this would have to be animated...

Like, something that grows, or expands... Boy, I don't know...

I think you're venturing into the realm of abstract expressionism here. It would be nearly impossible to represent a concept like this in any narrative way, and I think that it would be different for almost everyone. I personally see "uber" as a glowing sphere with tendrils coming out of it, that expands and contracts as if it were pulsating...

I think Leviticus is onto something. It's a small, insect-like sphere with tendrils that floats or flies around and just grabs whoever or whatever happens to be walking by, like a face-hugger, and turns them into an uber-version of what they are. Kind of a cross between an octopus and a jellyfish, but airborne. And glowing.

Uber- a race that excels at "something". If it's strength, draw them with huge arms, agressive looking, maybe spikey/bony projections. If it's intelligence, draw them with oversized brains, emanating some sort of psionic field. If it's speed, draw long, powerful legs, similar to rabbits or grasshoppers have them streamlined to give the impression of speed. And so on.

Whatever it is best at, exaggerate that characteristic in the character. It's extreme, so draw it that way.

I was planning on animating it in the end, though i'm not a good artist so i'm trying to get a good idea of what i'm looking for before I start working on it digitally. I know I can do it in 3dsmax i just have to come up with a good concept before I start workin on it. And i'll be sure to post some concept art on it once i get there. So keep the ideas flowing.. what would this uber creature look like?

When I think of an Uber race, I immediately picture something that is humanoid in appearance, but with exaggerated features that represent the best aspects of strength, intelligence, and leadership - huge muscles, big glasses, big head to accomodate an uber brain, and a big moustache, just because Uber is a funny word.

There also needs to be a set of lederhosen involved... somehow.

To get a better idea of what I have in mind, imagine what one of those traditional German peasants (with moustache and lederhosen, of course) might look like after being subjected to cosmic rays and being turned into a powerful super-hero (or super-villain).

Uber huh, think of a fat jackass that takes all your stuff, makes fun of you for not bieng like him. Think massive inferiority complex, then when you are about to accomplish something great, Mr. Uber comes in and steals all the glory. He also uses other peoples bodys as shields and lives in his own little happy world. Also is a pedophille, and lives in his mothers basement. That is uber!

Can't really draw uber, its like trying to draw very. That being said I think of a really fat/plump catapillar when I hear uber. Don't know why...

Uber reminds me of Superman... dunno why, lol.

It looks like a beet, or a turnip. Oh, wait. That's a "tuber."

An uber looks like my wife. She's the most uber of all the uber chicks I know.

Well just for a little deffinition. Uber is the German Prefix for "The most extreme of" Such as the word Ubercool. So maybe your character should represent the most extreme something?
