election night game ideas?
 

I think this belongs here more then it belongs in politics -- mods, if i'm wrong, please move.

So some friends of mine are having an election night party tomorrow and we'd really like to incorporate some fun games. we've already committed to drinking a fair bit so nothing too difficult but we would like to keep everyone amused and involved. We've tossed around the idea of some how betting on states or percentages or something but so far none of the ideas seem easily implemented and fun -- so i'm looking for suggestions.

Take a shot whenever CNN (or whomever) declares state X goes to candidate Y before the voting in that state is done.

Have your friends pick sides (if your group is politically diverse). When the state goes to a particular candidate, the people affiliated with that side takes as many shots as electoral college votes. (Watch out for CA, with 55 votes. :D )

I'm pretty sure taking 270+ shots of ANYTHING in one night is not a good idea ;)

Election Scrabble.... spell out words that are political or have been hot points in this year's campaigns.

Take a sip of a drink everytime "9/11" is mentioned. :P

I'm helping run a huge election night party at my school and one of the games we're doing is a color your own electoral college map. Basically there will be a table with a bunch of blank maps and a ton of crayons, and you color the map the way you think it'll turn out, the one who gets it right wins. Might not be as cool with a smaller group, or without the grand prize of a DVD player.

i like the map coloring idea but it seems a bit too easy since only a few state are really swing states. and we're already pencilling in a drinking game -- it looks like i can come up with a few more rules from this thread -- thanks guys, and keep the ideas coming!

Take a drink for every state that Nader doesn't win....

Assuming a 1 oz. shot of beer, you're still talking about 270 shots equalling almost 23 beers per person. Not a good plan, pal. I'm all for drinking, and drinking games. I'm all for getting nice and toasty. I'm strongly against alcohol poisoning. But that's just me.
