can anyone provide some context on what he was doing there? was this a camera test before he was to record a speech? home video? it looks real enough to me. i bet bush is good company to have a beer with.

Not really - you've got a very short video clip of the president who moves his hand into view of the camera with his middle finger extended that appears a few days before the election with absolutely no description of where it came from, when it was taken, etc. - it doesn't sound real to me.

And even if he did do it, so what? This isn't middle school where everyone goes "omg he flipped off the camera! teacher teacher!"

Depends on your definition of "bad," I guess.

Doing cocaine doesn't automatically turn you into a baby raper, but it does its part to perpetuate the continued trafficking of the drug, which leads to the deaths of thousands of people each year. Some would consider that as bad.

In any case, it certainly isn't in the top ten qualities you'd look for in the supposed leader of the free world. That's why I never threw my hat into the ring. :)

As far as the clip goes, I thought it was kinda funny. Not enough to ever get me to vote for him, or anyone who rides his coattails.

Big deal, he flipped off the camera in a situation where he is obviously in a small group. you can hear a few people chuckling. Personally, he does not seem like a bad person. I heard one time he asked a reporter off the record if he had any daughters. Then he said "mine are a real pain in the ass". That is funny, especially after they just embarassed him by getting carded. However, I do not like his policies and i will not vote for him.

I wish we had some context on this though. Say this was right before giving a victory speech after "beating" Gore. This would be highly innapropriate. If it isn't directed at anyone though then it is just him being childish.

He's obviously just screwing around. I don't see how this video has any relevence whatsoever aside from just giving you a shot of the president with his guard down.

I actually agree with you on that. On the other hand, that would be the very last thing on my list of qualifications for running the country. And, of course, the way I feel about his running of the country, I don't think he would find me a pleasant person to have a beer with. All politics aside, I suspect he was, in his time, a moderately amusing person to go drinking with.

And I should add that, were there anything that could make me think less of Dubya, this wouldn't be it. Heck, had he been elected by a comfortable majority and I saw this in the first 100 days of his administration, it might even make me dislike him a bit less. It's a damn shame that we'll never know. Honestly.

He wasn't even president when that footage was taken, so who cares? And why should you care even if it was taken after he became president? Is he not allowed to joke around just because he's the president?

From what I've read this was several years ago, and the video was not made for, or intended for public consumption... Can anyone check my facts on that?

That Bush clip doesn't seem old news to me at all...

The footage is probably from a wildfeed... He is getting ready to make a broadcast speech... the Satellite feed is up but not live on TV.

Anyone can access these feeds with a little know how.

hahahaha that was awesome. That is why I like George bush. Who does that sort of thing? Most of us do. Even the people in the video were cheering and laughing. Everyone brings up the drinking and all his other faults, but its nice to know he has gone through a lot of stuff that we have too. And that he can laugh at it is awesome.

A lot of people don’t like him because he isn’t "proper" or a stereotypical politician. But i like that.
