Seriously, if the girls get one, why don't the guys?!

Because the number of guys is far more than the number of girls. To make the girls feel more "at home" with TFP and to attract more girl members, the ladies lounge is created. Pretty much all the other boards are guys' boards. That's how I see it, I could be wrong though...
