I don't give to my alma mater. I may have once, but not for as long as I can remember. Their current push is to get people together for a LUNCHEON on a FRIDAY. As I responded to a professor who was hounded into contacting grads, they expect SUCCESSFUL grads to be w/in easy driving distance of southeastern Massachusetts AND be able to take a Friday afternoon off from work? They're fucking nuts!

I have not and will not give them a dime. They squeezed enough out of me with all the $150 books and tuition expenses up the ass.

I haven't yet because I am just starting out, owe student loans, etc. I plan to once I am better off. I did get a lifetime membership to the Alumni Association though. I don't know why really, but I guess it is just something to add to my resume. Graduated in 2002.

I will donate to the Community College I am attending once I finish with my degree and have a job. They use the donations to actually help out students such as finacial aide better teaching facilities (Sports has to make its own money through ticket sales). Of course, when i am done here and need to finish my degree at a university, they wont get anything, since sports, and paying the professors for reasearch, not teaching, is thier main objective.

As soon as I graduated from my private High School I started receiving letters to donate. I just graduated from college, but have not been asked to donate yet. At this point I can't really donate, but I think once I do have some extra income I'll do the deed.

I give a couple of hundred bones each year to specific scholarship programs. Although, be warned, once you start to give you become the Universities best friend. Thank God for Caller ID!

I graduated from UB in '86. They started right on on me, but I have to say that I didn't start giving to them until about '94. I am considering joining the Alumni Assoc. now, however.

My school calls once a year, but I never donate yet. Maybe when Im making more money I will but since my school claimed it had a "great placement center", but they didnt help me find shit, I can hold on to my money right now

usrbinboy 10-08-2004 09:01 PM

No. I don't actually like my schools

i figured my tuition was enough donation... hehe

portereight 10-15-2004 05:54 AM

I school I went to merged with another much larger university. I figure if they can buy a compete university, the can pay to look after things now.

The only way I would donate to my univ after I graduate is if it would guarantee a spot for my future kids or family members :)

My college was also purchased by a much larger "chain" for the name recognition only. I have not donated a penny. It has been almost ten years since graduation, and I am just now about to pay off all of the loans.

College was still worth it IMO.
