who smokes?

simple question... do you smoke?

adam 09-07-2004 05:28 PM

Problems with addictive substances run in my family; the last thing I need is to pick up one voluntarily.

radioguy 09-07-2004 05:32 PM

Tried it once in 7th grade. I coughed so long that I swore I would never do it again.

anleja 09-07-2004 05:33 PM

May I suggest a "pot & cigs" option... for those who like a smoke after they smoke.

MageB420666 09-07-2004 05:34 PM

Smoking cigarettes makes me nauseous as hell, plus my gf has sensitive sinuses.
Used to smoke weed, but family troubles caused me stop, I might pick it up again later but not likely

maleficent 09-07-2004 05:35 PM

I quit cigarettes over 10 years ago... I -- oh dear-- will pick up a good cigar purely for the smell of it - and take a few puffs while enjoying a nice single malt...

Can't stand the smell of cigs anymore.

gremlinx8 09-07-2004 05:36 PM

I never have smoked, the smell of the smoke was enough to make me feel sick.

Captain Canada 09-07-2004 05:56 PM

I smoke weed and I smoke cigarettes.

inharmony 09-07-2004 06:00 PM

No cigarettes for me thanks....legalize pot please (in my lifetime preferably) :)

MrFlux 09-07-2004 06:01 PM

Mary Jane only :D

filtherton 09-07-2004 06:33 PM

It's been nearly four weeks since i had a cigarette. I feel fresh. I've saved roughly $140 dollars.

nottwood 09-07-2004 06:40 PM

yes, only mother nature please!!!

basmoq 09-07-2004 06:41 PM

never ever held a lit anything, never ever will, ewwwwwwww!

09-07-2004 06:46 PM

I used to, Uncle Sam made me quit and I just never went back.

redarrow 09-07-2004 06:56 PM

Pothead here.

It helps because I have a bad temper so it cools me down..

Dane Bramage 09-07-2004 07:33 PM

Quite smoking cigs back in Jan of 2000. Quite smoking pot 7 months ago while I was looking for a job.

Now, I smoke 3 or 4 cigars a week. Totally differnt than smoking cigs. Love to smoke; the cigars let me do that without huffing down a pack a day.

DB.

tspikes51 09-07-2004 07:46 PM

Kudos to all of you that quit... Me, I like a good cigar every now and then (at most 2 a week), and have recently been enjoying Black & Milds. So if B&M's are filled with pipe tobacco, do they count as both pipe tobacco and a cigar??? Anyway, cigarettes are so nasty. I can't stand 'em.

Ralvek 09-07-2004 07:51 PM

Mmmmmmmmmmm stogies....Give me a nice Macanudo or Cohiba and I'm in heaven.

guthmund 09-07-2004 07:55 PM

I smoked for about seven years. After being "clean" (whatever the hell that means...) for about two years, I realized that I missed the feeling. I decided to start smoking cigars.

Personally, I now can't stand the smell of cigarettes. It makes me feel ill. A big ol' fat cigar though brings a tear to my eye.

Jeff 09-07-2004 09:04 PM

Too expensive for me. I put the money I save towards beer.

vermin 09-07-2004 09:13 PM

A pack a day. Camel lights. Or Camel Turkish Gold if that's the only thing in the "buy 2 get one free" deals.

Quitters never win, winners never quit. Hooray for lung transplant technology!

Willravel 09-07-2004 09:13 PM

Cigarettes have always seemed like population control to me. I've seen several people I know and love die very painful deaths of lung cancer after years of smoking. I guess I'm missing the benifit to smoking, having only seen the punishment.
I'll never smoke. Can't stand the idea of raising my risk of going through lung cancer (among others), let alone the taste and smell.

I wonder if anyone has rolled up a niccotine patch and smoked it...

omega2K4 09-07-2004 09:18 PM

I smoke marijuana (hashish, to be exact) and sometimes I'll smoke some heroin.

Kepage23 09-07-2004 10:01 PM

Non-smoker here. Never have, Never will. I can't even sit in the smoking section of a restaurant without feeling sick. The only place where I can deal with smoking is in bars, and that is only because of the alcohol.

doodlebird 09-07-2004 10:15 PM

sometimes i also smoke ribs or brisket. i've never smoked a chicken, but it must be pretty easy. :D

fallenangel 09-07-2004 10:48 PM

I smoke weed, on occasion. No, i'm not a pothead, I'm Canadian ;) (Other non weed smoking Canadians, don't take offence, i'm just teasing :) )

When i've been drinking, i don't mind a few drags from a nice fat cigar however, something about the muskiness that intrigues me. I can't take too much because I'll feel sick :S

The Phenomenon 09-07-2004 10:50 PM

I don't smoke, period. Its a disgusting habit.

People who smoke smell horrible, especially when they open their mouths. Chemical dependancy is stupid.

htemaj 09-08-2004 12:38 AM

Haven't smoked a ciggie, and won't.

I have tried marijuana once though, didn't see what's so great about it. Since it can sometimes be damaging, won't be touching another.

Kalnaur 09-08-2004 01:14 AM

Never smoked anything, never will. Mainly because I have other vices (no, not drugs or booze).

freeload 09-08-2004 01:35 AM

Except for a few cigars at special occations I've never smoked anything.

Bilbert 09-08-2004 02:33 AM

Smokers don't seem to understand the intensity and longevity of the smoker stink. Believe it or not: The entire office knows that you have come back from break. The chewing gum and coffee don't do much. We know that you were in on the weekend.

Smokers also tend to be 100% inconsiderate assholes. Very few of them bother to not blow smoke in your face, smoke near you, smoke in your house etc.

I am glad that laws were passed that prevented smoking in public places,

splck 09-08-2004 04:10 AM

pot and salmon...that's all I smoke.

netnut 09-08-2004 07:01 AM

Pot. Less filling, Tastes Great! Seriously, it is not fattening (unless you get da munchies), no carbs, zero calories. Only downside is the cancer thingy. Oh, and it does not mess with my blood sugar like alcohol does.

Mr. Spacemonkey 09-08-2004 07:08 AM

Nope, don't smoke, never have, and I don't enjoy being around people that do because I can't stand the smell. It gives me a fucking headache.

bigoldalphamale 09-08-2004 07:08 AM

smoked cigs for 14 years (13-27). havent had one in 8 months...my lungs feel better, but not as good as i thought they would. how long does it take for them to heal to noticable improvement?

smoked reefer alot in college...only occasionally (twice a year) these days.

bookerV 09-08-2004 07:11 AM

Colossal waste of money as far as I am concerned...

bigoldalphamale 09-08-2004 07:23 AM

in northern va $3 per pack. pack a day habit = $90 per month

$90 per month also = payment on plasma tv, upgrade from honda accord to BMW 3 series, a night out to eat at a nice restaurant with the missus, quarter of pretty good dope, gas money for the month, upgraded cable or sat tv to include all porn and sports stations, 3 new xbox games, roundtrip ticket on southwest airlines, 60 minutes of money back rubs at a massage parlor (with tip for happy ending!), enough to host a small bbq for college football saturdays...i could go on.

animosity 09-08-2004 08:03 AM

I consider these substances an extra expence that I do not need. Not to mention the fact that it is not the best thing for you.

I have smoked 2.5 cigs in my lifetime. I have smoked enough pot not to remember how much I have smoked total, but in either case I dont smoke anything now. And the only time I have purchased marijuana is for my friends birthday present.

Jonsgirl 09-08-2004 10:36 AM

I smoke. cigs now. Used to smoke pot, but my job isn't real "drug friendly" and my husband is really paranoid about it, so.....it's only a VERY occasional thing now.
