Enough ice to sink a ship.

Stunning photos.

The pictures taken were on the Coast Guard ship Sir William Alexander during the search for the fishing boat El Loda Cash which went down in the Bay of Fundy.

It is belived the ice caused the fishing boat to sink.

Pics removed.

That's insane! However, ice floats on water (water is the only compound which the solid state floats on the liquid state). I suppose the shear weight of it on the boat would be enough to sink it though.

it was more of a problem on wooden ships when it helped break the masts and would FUBAR the rigging. And of course there are many stories like the Endurance from the famous Shackleton Expedition that come to mind where a ship were caught in the ice and crushed liked an egg.

Great pictures! I would like to take a sledge hammer to ice for a few minutes to burn calories and frustration, but then I would want out.

My internet behaviour sometimes crosses the line and conversing an image is just a second nature for me so I hope that I caused you no grief with the post.

Thank you for putting the link up for what are just stark reminders of life that is real.
Apologies again and I will PM you.
