Where to take a wristwatch...
to get it resized? My girlfriend surprised me with a really nice Fossil watch, but it's rather big for my wrist I probably need to have a few links taken out. Is there a place that would do it for cheap (or free?) Would I have to go back to the place she bought it (I do know where it is, and I do have the gift receipt). Anybody have any experience with this?

Any half-decent jewelry shop can take out a few links for next to nothing.

I think you should call the place and see if they resize watches that were bought there. Some places do that. If not, I think you can take it basically to anywhere that has a section of watches in the store. I'm pretty sure any watch store does it. In department stores like THe Bay or something, they have someone who does the resizing too.

You can do it yourself easily on most watches. Just pop out the pins holding the links together and take out what you want to remove, then put a pin back in. My last watch that I got, I couldnt get the pins out, so I took it to a jewlery store in the mall and they just did it for free.

If you dont feel comfortable with that, any jewelry place should do it for you, as should the place you bought it from. |
i did a few myself too
its not difficult just look at it and see how it works (generally its the same for most watches) and then have at it typically: take a paperclip (or if u have one of those really small screwdriver sets) and push in the pin from the outside. You'll probably have to do this on both sides. |
