What do you do when you have NOTHING to do
I am bored to death and out of options. Really don't have any friends who would wanna go out as they are all lazier than I, which i didn't think was possible. And I am a totally different person when going out alone, and I don't like that feeling so I avoid doing that. So instead, I am stuck at home wasting valueble hours of my life, asking you what you do when it happens to you?

I made brownies.
I learned how to make a website, and made one. I play emulators sometimes.

Pssst... it's called the Titty Board.
Seriously? I play games (City of Heroes at the moment), clean up the apartment, go jogging, read, surf the internet for stuff I shouldn't buy, buy stuff I shouldn't on Ebay, stuff like that.

Ehh...I guess I'm something of a dork but sometimes I study stuff I want to learn. Currently, it's anatomy (for art). If I have some extra time and nothing to do, I'll get to studying .
Or....you can rent a movie, read a book, sleep, work out, or play video games. ....or just hang out on here for a while |

Heh, a few of you have seen the videos of what I do in the Members Playground.
Let it be a dremel with cds, paintball guns, or bb guns shooting random shit. I have always been able to find somthing to do. Its gotta be the fact I am a only child, and after growing up that way you learn to entertain your self.

Buy an old house. Then you won't have this problem.
Also, gaming, web surfing, porn, netflix, work on your car, volunteer, have a child (you will never be bored again. However, you will wish you could be), or take up an artistic hobby (ex: writing, painting, etc).

I live alone and have lazy friends so I run into this all the time. I have acquired several hobbies to keep me busy. I'm a musician so I spend a lot of time jamming or writing. I also play volleyball a few nights a week. There's a community center that has open play and also a place called City Beach I play at. If not, I go to the gym, go for drives, relax at home, watch movies, surf the web, read, play video games, just random stuff. I just to rely on other people to do stuff with and could never find someone so I would sit around not doing anything. Now I realize that doing stuff alone is not only okay but sometimes better. Do whatever you want to do, if no one is available to do it with you, go at it alone. Or you could try to find other people in your area to do stuff with. craigslist.org is a good site for that. Just look under Activity Partners.

I really always have a lot of great productive, creative, and loving things to do. It helps, of course, to have a job with 24/7 responsibility, to be running a web site and to be assisting with this one, to have many projects going on simultaneously, to live on 14 country acres, and to have 2 great girlfriends living with me here.
Even when I lived alone, I have always lived in my studio. So there's always content creation going on in my life. I don't know how you can apply this to your life - but perhaps you can.

Do you like photography? Sounds like you need to go on a walkabout!
1)Do not fall into the sad cycle of refreshing the forums every 5 minutes to see if anything interesting got posted 2)Grab a camera. Any camera. A disposable soapbox cam will do. 3)Open door, step outside, walk. 4)Press shutter, as needed. 5)Post your pictures on TFP I like go on these at least once a week, across NYC. Plenty to see. Plenty to bring back with ya.

Heres the events that almost always take place when I get bored. They are numerically correct too.
1- Check e-mail - find little or nothing of interest 2- Open up TFP - check the threads I watch (andnever gotten around to subscribing), post a few, look at some new threads. Might check out titty board for a minute. 3- Check e-mail again (10 minutes later) 4- Load up my di.fm playlist and see whats on 5- Check e-mail a third time. Maybe it's some compolsive thing. Still nothing, by the way. 8- Walk around; go outside. Maybe run my RC truck around a little bit. Take some random pictures 9- Open up Photoshop and do something pointless Off topic: Cynthetiq our avatars are quite similar. We seem to share a passion for the Domo-Kun. Very cool guy he is. Have you seen the cartoon clips? Hilarious as hell. It looks like your avatar is from one of them. I'm going to build my own Domo-Kun costume (sort of for Halloween I guess). It will be about 8 feet tall. My friends and I are going to run around in the streets with it and video tape it. Last edited by todd; 08-08-2004 at 09:26 PM.. |

I touch myself when I'm bored. I also have problems with impulse control when it concerns touching myself. I guess what I'm trying to say is I touch myself all the time, and "when I'm bored" falls into that category.

Wow, I can't recall sleeping for over 7 hours or actually having NOTHING to do ever since my elder son was born 3 years ago. I now have two boys, younger one is almost 16 months old. Aside watching, interacting with the kids, house projects, yard work, etc. It'd really be nice if I can have nothing to do for a few hours.
