White Out??
Ok Ok I know something has got to be wrong with the world when Walmart cards you for WHITE OUT!!!
The other day I was buying school supplies and the cashier carded me for white out. She said it was because kids buy them and snuff them, so you have to be 18 to buy them. Does that mean that since you are 18 your body can handle the toxins better the same way you have to be 18 to buy cig's?? hmmm. . . . |
They've got those limits on other things as well. Try buying more than five bottles of Robotussin.
|
Wait, wait, hold on, why the hell would you need five bottles of 'tussin?
And yes, everywhere is getting too uptight about carding people. Next thing ya know stores will be carding for soda because caffeine and sugar are dangerous. |
you would need five bottles of 'tussin to get wasted... which is what they're trying to combat i suppose
|
I've been carded for spray paint too...it's sad what kids will do to get a cheap high....
|
So...
Kids will now be standing outside Walmart asking adults/older teens to go buy whiteout for them? And kids start using fakeids for whiteout? And the mother.. who buys whiteout and give it to her underage child working on a school project.. she an accessory or a dealer? ;) |

Seriously, I hate to take this semi-offtopic, but I'm curious: #1) How old are you (are you underage for where you live?) #2) Why? Of all the things out there, why take something like robotussin? Not that I'm encouraging trying outher things.. but it just seems like a weird habit to get into. |
Luckily for me I've never been carded for white out.
Unluckily for me I've been carded for just about everything other then alcohol until I was somewhere between 25 and 26. Spray paint, super glue, spray glue, the movies. Many times we would stop at a bar before a movie to hang out and have a drink. So I'd end up betting with different people that I could order my drink without being carded but I'd be carded for the movie. Worked just about everytime I tried it on someone new. |

The Nanny State in action. Ol' Sam means well, but he would control your life to save you from yourself. ;-) |
My parents sent me to buy matches, charcoal and fluid for thier grill. I was carded by walmart because I could have been using the matches to smoke cigarettes or something worse!
Now, if they had carded me because they thought I was an arsonist, that would have made a little more sense (a little), but incase I planned on smoking with them? What did they think the charcoal and fluid were for? Maybe they thought I was going to smoke the charcoal. |
I haven't been carded for anything since I turned 22. Something to do with the bald head. Except in Washington state. Those fools card you for everything.
|
I am 27 and was recently carded for buying No-Doz
I don't get what the problem was A kid can go and buy coffee or soda from the store, but if the caffine comes in pill form suddenly it is bad? |
A few months back, I had an awful cold, so I went to a CVS to get some Coricidin, the only stuff that works, only there was none on the shelf, there was a sign to ask the pharmacist.
So I trot back to the pharmacist and I was actually interviewed before being given the OTC medicine. (I'm a few months shy of 40 years old, not exactly a teenager looking to get high on something) I basically said to the pharmacist, that if I was looking for drugs I could get a scrip from my doctor for something fun and have insuranance pay for it... Two years ago, I was leaving Australia and not looking forward to the 14 hour flight home, so I wanted an OTC sleeping pill, cause otherwise nothing was going to work -- same deal there, I was quizzed there to make sure I wasnt going to overdose... |
Carded is being asked for an ID card, right?
It is much more lax in Britain. When I was 14 I was walking into stores and buying crates of beer without issue. |
So its legal to sniff white out after 18, but illegal before??
|
Or maybe we are more responsible after 18? Somehow, I highly doubt that.
Next they will start carding to buy TP. Just to make sure you aren't going to TP someone's house. |
I've heard of people getting high by inhaling the gas in Whipped-cream cans. I wonder how long it'll be until you're carded for those?

There's other things that you can't buy too. Like diet pills. |
I also was carded at Wal-mart for buying super glue. I was shocked, rather appalled, and kinda put up a fuss. What if I hadn't been over 18? Is my countertop destined to be busted?
Pathetic... |
Heh I remember walking into cvs with 2 of my friends, each of us buying a 4 oz bottle of tussin to try it out. Even 4 ounces will put a hurtin on the cranium.
Dramamine is antoher legal pharmacutical which can get you fucked. People are discovering so many things taht can get you high its crazy. You can probably get messed up from something growing in your back yard. |
This is why big chains are stupid and asinine. I've never heard of anyone being carded for buying rice cooking wine from the local Chinese supermarket. I bought some myself (for cooking, you animals;)) recently and the only thing I got from the cute checkout girl was some stir fry tips.
Attention desparate underage drinkers, wean yourself off unregulated vanilla essence and onto unregulated (bad) sake. |
Listerine also has a pretty high alcohol content, if you can get past the taste of it, you could get pretty wasted pretty quickly, and your breath would be minty fresh...
|
Walmart just sucks in pretty much every conceivable way. This surprises me a *little* at first, but then makes too much sense when I think about it. Morons.

I new some kids that would sniff gas. They'd soak a sock and put it in bottle ... inhale the fumes.
I can't imagine how many brain cells they killed. But to be honest, they were pretty stupid to begin with. |
Hell, you can still walk into a paint store and buy a gallon of toulene. That's the stuff from airplance glue that made you high. It wiped out bazillions of brain cells, too, but damn!
|
this thread seems to have veered off topic... while on the new topic, i hear a half a bottle of nyquil will fuck you up good too
|
ok ok i didnt mean for this thread to turn into what products make people high, i was just curious what kinds of stupid things people get carded for. I will admit that this is quit interesting but could posibly get a lot of stupid impressionable kids into a lot of trouble.
Just remember children, inhaling these toxins kills braincells that you will sorely miss when you grow up, if you get that far. |
one time i went with my friends that I hadn't seen in 6 months to go get cigars at a gas station. We stood there for awhile trying to decide which ones we wanted, and then when one guy went to buy them, they asked for all of our id's!! They were like "since we heard you talking to each other, we knew you guys were together and if one if you isn't 18, we can't sell these to you." We were all 19-20 at the time so I guess we could've maybe looked under 18...but I thought it was pretty dumb.
I remember hearing (it easily could've been an urban legend though) about some kids that tried injecting peanut butter and water solution. Apparently they thought they were getting high, but were actually having strokes. I wouldn't be surprised one bit if it's true either. |
I stopped at Wal-Mart one evening to buy some super glue. To save time, I went through the self-checkout. Of course it wouldn't let me buy it without the 'ok' from the cashier, who was nowhere to be found. The line behind me was getting longer and I was losing my patience. I assumed she would come and put in her key and that would be it. But no, she had to see my ID.
It's sad how a couple of stupid kids can make things difficult for everyone else. |
Walmart recently carded me for Compressed Air- the kind you clean keyboards for...
|
If I wanted to get drunk off of a medicine I'd get NiQuil. It's basically liquor with a tiny bit of "medicine".
|
I stopped using white out when I discovered how hard it was to get off my monitor.
