It's been . . .

It has been over a year and a half since she left!

Why the hell am I still thinking of this woman every single day?!?!?

Chrissakes! I've met and been with other women since then and I still think about this woman!

I'm not necessarily looking for advice as I am willing to open a thread where guys can come in and address a similar issue - current or past.

SinisterMotives 07-16-2004 03:01 PM

That happened to me once. Once. Years ago, I met this woman who completely blew my mind, and I let her go. I've never met another one like her before or since. Oh well, life goes on. http://bluehole.clarkworx.com/chrome...n_confused.gif

I went through this once! Didn't forget about her till I started a strong potsmoking habit, then I had to do the same with maryjane, but that was much easier.

TheDave87 07-16-2004 07:13 PM

I'm going through that now. We broke up a while ago... about 6 or 8 months. I was seeing someone else but now im not, and shes seeing some complete assclown and i cant stop thinking about her... i want her back, but i dont know if itll happen

Craven Morehead 07-16-2004 07:24 PM

been there, and still there as a matter of fact.

'it's not what you took, my love
it's what you left behind"

Latch 07-16-2004 07:50 PM

I still go through this.. it's not a constant thing but there's sudden feelings on seeing her/having a chat with her every now and then.. too bad it can never be..

^That's why you should cut off all contact with your serious exes afterwards. It's hard at first but it helps you get over them faster.

this happens to everyone at some point, male or female.
everyone has their heartbreaks, their "what if"s, their unrequited loves.

if we didn't, we'd have a much smaller music industry

Why is it that when you need it the least, that almost every song you hear on the radio is a love song or about breakups? Especially Country music...

analog 07-16-2004 10:02 PM

done it. been a year and a half for me as well. been with another girl... to this day it's hard to think of other girls... but i can never have her back.

*sigh*

Esco 07-16-2004 10:08 PM

Geez ... it's been such a long time for me. At least 5 years, but she was the first girl that I had a somewhat "mature" relationship with. The first person I gave most of myself to ... sacrificed for ... shared my most intimate fears with.

How do you ever fully end that unique bond that was shared? I've since moved on and have the most absolutely wonderful girl possible in the world ... but still, that other one will always be considered special though she must always remain in the past.

I think its like a right of passage for all guys no? Really sucks cause honestly how many of us can actually say we know exactly what the breakup was about?
Unfortunatly a talent most guys seem to develop very well seems to be the want to fix things but only messing things up worse....I mean damn.....drowning in the uncertainty of it all...what the hell if left to try and find a life perserver...unfortunatly always seems to do much worse when trying to find some stable footing.

bernadette 07-17-2004 03:43 PM

even though i've been happily married for years & years, occasionally i'll still think of 2 or 3 heart throbs from way back when... like when a thread like this or some other stimulus provokes my memories.

i think it's normal & okay.

obsessing over what could have been probably needs to be addressed & closure found. let it go. it's over. move on yknow.

DirtyVegas 07-17-2004 06:44 PM

i was with a chick for 7 years. she was my best friend for everyday of those 7 years too, but she left me for a rich guy. Still to this day i think about being back with her....yet i know itll never happen. This was like 3 yrs ago though, i feel your pain.

ive become a male whore since then and i cant seem to find another woman interesting enough to get to know again (on a serious level)

viejo gringo 07-17-2004 07:12 PM

The candel light was flickering in her deep dark eyes---damn, that was 32 years ago..

thadon 07-17-2004 07:53 PM

I hear you bbrown4 ... my story, I have a new fiance but I constantly have dreams about my first love that lives in another state, I ask myself, what if I move to that state and leave my fiance, but I am love my fiance. Then there is the woman before my fiance, the rebound girl ... the sex was the best ever, she had a huge natural rack, gave the best head, and had awesome gushing orgasms, she had family problems and moved back w/ her mom in OH, so I have a fiance hre but thing of my 2 exes all the time. WTF ... I guess it is just the male mind

bbrown4 07-20-2004 03:37 PM

She was svelte and curvy.
She was funny and demure.
She was grace personified.
She was perfect in her imperfections.
I miss her smiling face every day.

My profound thanks, Gentlemen. Cheers to us and all of those like us everywhere. Because even if for a very short time each of us had everything we have ever wanted.

rockzilla 07-20-2004 04:08 PM

It's been almost 3 years since we broke up. We stayed friends and both went on to see other people. Everything was cool, we were just platonic now, practically brother and sister. Then, 2 weeks ago something inside us snapped and we had the most frenzied, desperate sex ever. Neither of us really know what to make of it, or where things go now.
