Eric Idle loves the FCC
Here's an MP3 with which Eric Idle isn't at all clear how he feels. In fact, I agree with him. A lot.
|
Haha i loved the Ahnold part
awesome |
Really good man!
|
LOL that's too funny.
|
That's the sort of tune that sticks in your head. It's going to drive me crazy soon. At least it's a funny song.
|
I woke up to that song today ^_^
|
thats great, i love his stuff
cheney's pacemakers fake!! LOL mods- sorry for the double post. edit gone bad slugo |
Wow.
I am going to play that on my radio show. On repeat. |
Most excellent thing I've heard today. Magnifique!
|
that is priceless!
encore! encore! |
That was great... I'm spreading it . :)
|
OH MY GOD!
|
That rules. :)
|
Stupid.
|
I agree with BoCo.
Besides its utter childishness, it wallows in the perennial fashion of bashing our social institutions. It's easy to criticize the very things that underlie and ultimately support us and our way of life. Our government is a convenient target to thumb our noses at. I suppose that's why it's such a common thing to do. |
I can see the comedy in the song but I can't laugh at it....
|
Actually, in this particular case, I agree with most of what he's saying. The BS about the FCC fining people is just wrong, and that's his main point. The rest of it, well, you don't have to agree with him. Releasing it as he's done is probably the cheapest way for him to exibit his position.

However I respect your opinion because I don't find using your freedom of speech to criticize something you oppose, no matter how easy a target, childish. |
If that song - which is what I was talking about - isn't childish, then I don't know what is.
|
Childish humour is still goddamn funny humour. Unless you're old ;)
|
Criticising the 'institutions that support our way of life' is the most important way to support 'our' way of life.
It's a song of satire, not a subtle one, but who wants subtle? |
Yes, hulk, older than a child I suppose...
manalone, it doesn't seem particularly inventive to me to say "fuck you" repetitively to an object of "satire." Of course, something like this would be a matter of taste. |

That's great!

After hearing it and enjoying it, now it evokes sadness.

It's designed to contrast the, in my opionion, laughable non-event of things like cursing in the Media with the loose moral standards which raise not even an eyebrow in the massses. Quote:

Offend who? - the people who like this sort of thing?
Judging from comments here, it's quite popular and well-liked. I'm not offended. I just have different standards for what constitutes good work and what doesn't. |
