I am kind of wondering, how self aware thse two are about the way they are portraying themselves... I mean I dont know a lot about them, but they dont seem to be unintelligent people, they must surely realise that they are being marketed as some kind of dirty minded fantasy... why do they let it happen? Maybe they just want the money, or maybe they genuinely dont see it that way - what do you think?

Um, I just see them as some overly obnoxious rich kids.

Much of their target audience is tweenie girls, the one's who feel that they grew up with the twins.

They are not exactly Tatu.

I don't think they see that they are marketing themselves as a dirty minded fantasy... They are marketing themselves a young girls. They make/made a ton of money from young girls.

The fact that older men find them hot and fantasize about twins etc. is not their problem. It isn't a matter of letting it happen it is just a side effect of being pretty and famous. You don't always attract the audience you are after (witness Hilary Duff).

Of course, now that they have turned 18 (or just about according to the People my wife left in the bathroom) I suspect that their demographic will shift to include those men... (witness Britney Spears).

I think they see it as something that is mildly humorous, no more than that. If they think about it a lot it would probably get to them and cause problems. They are more concerned with their line of clothing and all that good stuff than the public's view of them. Probably why they have billions of dollars.

Although they have millions of dollars they're anorexic. My dirty fantasies about them turning 18 were crushed by this candid picture.

Charlatan has it prety much right. Maybe you don't know, Strange Famous, but THEY are the ones doing the marketing. They control every aspect of their image and everything they do.

They're actually pretty intelligent, and if you look past the created hype and look at what they actually do, you'll find that they're nothing more than your average 17/18 year old girls who are starting to express a *little* bit of sexuality in their work while still keeping it generally clean.

Very cute girls, but they need to EAT. Too thin IMO. Lindsey Lohan is has taken there place in terms of underage fantasy girl. That didn't sound good did it... You know what I mean.

I mean the way they are always pictured hugging each other and stuff... and yeah, that girl most definitely looks too thing, I think Mary Kate is the cutest one, but then again I'm not sure which one is Mary Kate?

The only fantasy I have that involves those two also involves a sledge hammer and a box to put the body parts in.

Lindsey Lohan is getting the same thing while she is promoting her movie on the Late talk shows recently. The host often mentions that, she too, has a count down to 18 web page out there somewhere.
All of them get asked if they have a boyfriend. When Amanda Bines was out promoting her show, when she was 17, it seemed a bit awkward when she was asked about her boyfriend. Somehow, the subject of his age would come up. I think he was 21 or 25. I don't remember.
Always remember, sex sells. Innocent sex sells better and longer. Just look at Britney.

They rank up there with the Paris sisters or most other modern 'celebrities' as people I do not give a f*ck about in the slightest.
If I was going to pick a female for some twisted fantasy she would at least be closer to my age and realistically available.

I saw those pictures and I couldn't believe they were that skinny. That is just discusting...

Get real: Women spend their whole lives to be these revered fantasized about creatures.
Most young women want to be perfectly groomed and fashionable and lusted after.

They should turn it off? Hardly.
That's their only selling point; Yeah lets turn off all of these young guys with dollars in their pockets.

They're way to thin, not to mention I see more and more of a resemblance to Paris Hilton in them every day, and I can't stand her, hence my disliking for them only grows as well...

They are really rude, according to Nwlinkvxd. He saw them at a museum here in California, and he said one of his friends wanted a 'hug, handshake'...or something...and they just looked at him rudely and said: 'No,' as though it's just fine to ignore your fans.

Personally, I don't know how the Olsen twins could not know that they are the object of creepy older men's fantasies. At the MTV movie awards, they came out with David Spade and told him he had thirty seconds to make his jokes. They know, they just don't care because it helps get them richer.

I've got no problem with stars not giving a hug or a handshake to a complete stranger when they are out trying to live their life. If they did this at an event where they knew that fans would be there expecting this sort of thing, then I'd think they were little bitches.
