Anyway... there was a difference of opinion over this term:

Cock-block, aka cockblock, cockblocking, getting "cockblocked", etc.

For those not aware, it is when a man is "blocked" from a conquest by something a person says or does.

Examples: You're a guy, and you're standing there with a friend and a cute girl walks up. You start putting on your charm, but then your friend mentions something about your "girlfriend", or a "rash", which is usually fictitious and only said to "block" you from being able to hit on the girl- i.e., she hears girlfriend and walks away.

What is in debate here is WHO CAN COCKBLOCK.

I say ONLY MEN can cockblock other men, as the term refers to being "blocked" by another "cock", meaning guy.

Some say women can also cockblock, and that it just refers to having your own cock "blocked".

Which do you believe in?

Anything or anyone who puts salt in your game and blows the trap you have set or stops your game in its tracks is a cock-blocker.... May it be male or female...

Regardless of who does it, only a guy can receive a cockblock. Or maybe that's subject for a separate poll.

This is how I see it.

Women most definately can cockblock. Classic scenario:

Your out on the town, running your game. The hot girl your trying to get to go home with you has a less attractive friend who is bitter because she hasnt been hit on all night by anybody. The hot girl wants you, you want her and you both know it. Then comes the grumpy female friend. Bitching about how shes bored and wants to go home (saying things like "this sucks", "theres nothing to do", "I'm tired" etc). The hot girl then gets guilted into taking her friend home and parting ways with you for the night. The defective unattractive girl knows perfectly well that you both are trying to hook up. Shes just in the mindset that if shes not getting any.. no one else is if she can help it. Thats a female cockblock.

Ok but we already have a word for that, sprocket, it's called "bitch". :)

Anyone can cock-block.... Girls can get cock-blocked too. Although I guess it would be called something different? Happened to me a few times. My friends suck.

I always thought it referred to having your own cock blocked, rather than somebody elses getting in the way.

The aim of the cockblocker is to block the path from cock to minge and therefore it is a sport in which both males and females can participate.

Well, I got cock-blocked by exams earlier this year, so Im gonna have to go with BuDDaH and sixate on this one. I had a date with a really hot date, but had to many exams that week to be able to do anything, then we left for a while on break. Long story short, nothing came of it. Damn exams.

Yes, women seem to have perfected this art form. They can salt your game in numerous ways. Sprocket summed up one scenario.

I had a good friend who was notorious for it. He liked to sing Karoake and was a pretty damn good singer. I was busy getting my make on with a girl several years ago. We were hitting it off great before "Chad" walk up and starts talking. She asks what he does for a living (which was nothing at that particular point in time) but said he was a backup singer for N'Sync. He looks at me and says, "Right Waterboy?" (except my real name) The funny part is she beleived him.

Enough of this cockblockery! This debate is moot. Within limits (i.e. that the phrase refers to the prevention of getting some), trendy words and phrases like "cockblock" mean whatever the hell you decide they mean. As I alluded to in my first statement, Bill (in Kill Bill Vol. 2) used it to mean little more than not getting things done (read: no action).

I develop a relationship with a girl, take her out somewhere, get to know her, step it up a few notches and then (after a while) take her to my house to "meet my cat." Inside we meet my cat, Fred. Hi Fred, now it's movie time where cuddlez are to be had.

I will stroke the tip of her hair, if she likes this I give her a kiss. If she likes this then I stop. After a few minutes I start to smell her neck for a while, chicks dig it. Then comes kissing, biting and then I stop again. Once she's clearly turned on I ask her to say "please." If she says no then I roll over and lie down, she'll either get pissed and kick me in the nuts or (usually) stew in her own juices and give in. It's a great way to initiate sex, the only way I get cock blocked is if I mess up and say something retarded.

So in that context, I'd say the term is relative to the situation.

It looks like it's a pretty universal theory that anybody can cockblock. I agree with it, although that sucks.

Both can and will do it. I see it all the time.

I don't think there needs to be one. Generally speaking, I think a guy is more likely to chalk up some line like "she has a boyfriend/rash/etc." as total bullshit- and are less likely than girls to care if they even have an SO at all- and just leave it to find out for themselves.

Who would be doing the cockbloking if a girl sends the guy out to do the blocking, though the guy does not know this? This did not happen to me but i did witness it.

I think you could read it both ways depending on the subject and the supporting dialogue in which "cock-block" pops up.

However, Cock-blocking, at least to me, refers to some guy using his "cock" to block my own. Because I see it this way, it is a "males only" phrase....or she-males...maybe...or well, anything with a cock. Because it excludes those without "member," it cannot be used to describe what females do.

Females cannot cock-block (remember...without member???) They can only block cock, or the ancient art of deflecting cock, because they have no cock with which to block.

I could also see a woman deflecting one guy with another guy. Deflecting cock by cock-blocking, but it's still the 2nd guy's cock that's involved and doing the physical blocking. In this case the woman is relegated to "manipulating cock," which although sounds kinky, most certainly isn't.

When I was in college I was under the impression that a guy cockblocking another guy was pretty much a criminal offense. The only exception was if the guy doing the cockblocking was protecting a sister, cousin, etc. I thought that only girls could cockblock guys.

if anyone tried that shit on me they would have hell to pay. this is a serious crime against another man, equivalent to kicking a guy in the nuts. both crimes are are punishable by a serious beat down in the parking lot.

I think this is sometimes the case, but others we're doing it for the good of our friend. My friend Liz is known for picking up the worst men, then bitching for months when the guy doesnt call. So the rest of us try to nip the situation in the bud when we can tell that the guy is just an asshole who's looking for some quick action.

Other times.... Yeah, it's just pure bitchiness :)

Bottom line seems to be that if your cock is blocked then it doesn't really matter who did the blocking (male or female). Blocked = no ass for you :mad: and that's not a good thing honey!
