This is too odd to post in Tilted Entertainment, so I'm posting it here this way everyone can get a decent chance at reading it :)

Sounds as though Larry Wachowski -- one half of the Chicago-born, super-successful brother team (along with Andy Wachowski) that created the "Matrix'' films -- is about to make a life-altering move.

According to those close to the extremely reclusive duo, Larry is about to finally become "Linda.'' Wachowski, who has been living and dressing as a woman for some time, reportedly is preparing to take the final step and have sex-change surgery. As always, it was impossible to get any comment from the press-shy Wachowskis, but several longtime friends of the Rogers Park native confirm Wachowski is planning to complete the process of becoming a woman.

Wachowski's sexuality and sexual preferences have made headlines since his nine-year marriage to Thea Bloom turned into an ugly divorce battle over the past couple of years. During courtroom fights over the millions generated by the "Matrix'' films, Bloom made veiled reference to her husband's proclivity for cross-dressing and his taste for less-than-conventional sexual activities. Bloom accused Wachowski of being "extremely dishonest with me in our personal life,'' and blamed the couple's initial separation on "very intimate circumstances concerning which I do not elaborate at this time for the reasons of his personal privacy.'' Numerous press reports have highlighted a long-term S&M dominatrix relationship Wachowski maintained with the owner of a Los Angeles area sex shop.

I don't really know what to say to this....I guess if that's what he wants to do, then.....*shrug*

I only wonder if this will have any impact on their acceptance in Hollywood (I'm sure it will) or the films they do in the future (less likely).

I don't think the penis is removed, just cut all up to make it look like a vagina...

I can never believe how a person's sex life could ever have any bearing in a court of law. That just seems so damn subjective, and I think should be thrown out every time. Then again, I'm not a lawyer.

Total shocker for me. Didn't know anything about Larry Wachowski. Still an awesome director. If he wants to do that then I don't see why he can't. As long as he keeps making good movies.

I don't know how much baring it had, but I think that if two people are sexually incompatable (for lack of a better word), that's good enough to file for divorce. Sex is a big part of a marriage :)

I'm not too shocked, although I didn't really expect it.

Pretty crazy, also, sadly, they will probably be hard pressed to make another movie after this. Though, i imagine they will have enough cash to have a good operation. I feel shitty for saying this but, how about some before and after pics? (of the face ofcourse)

Actually from what I've learned it's actually just turned inside out. I may be wrong but this is how I understood it. I found it actually quite interesting.

As to their acceptance in hollywood? I have a feeling they will attract quite a bit of attention from the news people for a while. Anything that's shocking to the general public is "newsworthy". In the shortterm they will get plenty of publicity and may be "useful" to producers (I'm guessing here). Longterm? I think enough people are uncomfortable about unconventional sexual tastes that they will be shunned. I hope not really.

OK, one thing to keep in mind... How reliable is the columnist? The newspaper? Before accepting it at face value, make sure to ask such questions...

Um, actually, it's the Sun-TIMES. It may not be the best of the 3 major Chicago newspapers, but it's still a pretty credible source of information. This is the same newspaper, for example, that Roger Ebert works for.

Very true, which is why, being from Chicago, I know this is not some tabloid or anything like that and as such posted it here.

Now, the chances of it being an intentional hoax by the Wachowski's, that's a different issue altogether.

Roger that! The Wachowski Siblings will still be heros for making my all-time favorite trilogy. This is a bit of a shocker, though. Oh well, it's from the Sun-Times, and my man Ebert is from the Sun-Times, so I'm guessing it's legit.
