Actually, my best friend's wife probably would have. Aside from being a total bitch, she's all about saving pennies in the most obnoxious way. She'd be bidding on that dress for $1 or $2 just to save the money for her QVC and Operah addictions.

He was on the local news (I'm in WA). Guess he got busted for having an auction, wearing his exwife's dress. He thought it would be good revenge. He wants to use the money to buy beer and Mariners tix.

I guess the $9,999,9999 was (rightfully) removed by ebay. The current highest bid is $17,000.
The thing about your ebay auction becoming well known is that you get a lot of losers just bidding as a joke, with no intention of paying.
This guy actually wants to sell that dress. I wonder if that $17,000 was serious? I mean he says that the dress cost $1,200 new!

Too funny. It was just on the news at noon from Oklahoma City, channel 4 in case any of you Okies wasn't goofing off and watching the news and weather.

Wow! Although I'd say it's going to be hard for him to get any legit price (with gag bids and such), I must give him credit for taking a shitty situation (wife leaving, but keeping the ring) and turning it into comedy gold!

His updates are some of the funniest things I've read in a while.

Auction is changed to approved bidders only and the bid is up to 15 grand, so he will be getting that ;). Not bad chunk of change for having a little fun I must say.

Price went down abit, but none the less 4grand is a good amount of money, and I think he can catch afew Mariners games with that money. And besides that he got awesome publicity, and probly had tons of fun doing it. This mans my hero, i would definetly buy any book he put out.

He's in Washington, near us. The local news said that he was improperly selling his ex-wifes dress to get revenge. He wants to use the money from the auction to buy beer and Mariners tix. He was not afraid to be on camera. He's also gotten marriage proposals as well.

And he makes 3850! That would certainly make me feel a bit better.

I hope that guy gets the money that it sold for. He did a great job on listing an auction (perfect humor all the way through the listing) and the auction spread like wildfire on the internet.

What I can't understand is why this guy want Mariner tickets. Have you seen them lately? I am a diehard M's fan but I want to slit my wrists watching those games day after day. I guess that's why he wants the beer...

I (along with many of our school's football players) wore a dress and girly tank-top in front of my entire high school yesterday for our Relay For Life program in order to make afew bucks, and I didn't keep a dime of it; the $3 bucks I made went straight to their cancer-fund, heh. Now, with that said, I'd much rather be that guy who made nearly $4,000 and get to keep the money than being myself yesterday.
