Have you seen those Ads online where They want to take over All Your Debts (and control & save your soul at the same time?)

Who's behind those corporations and what's the deal anyhow?
Is this legal? Does one have to donate a limb or tithe for life?

(Not that I have any debt - I'm cash & carry all the way)

As a supervisor in the AF I was privy to the financial problems of my subordinates (and some senior leadership). I am totally AMAZED at the misconceptions that people have.

One guy had more debt in less than 6 months, than he earned his entire life.

I flatly refuse to do business w/ a company that advertises itself as being christian, evry time I have done business with one, I have been burned. If I were considering doing any business with them, I would talk to several people that have been their customers for a reasonable length of time. My first reaction though was that they are a wolf in sheeps' clothing

My theory is simple: you spend less than you make.
You pay yourself first and save some large sum in very diverse places for emergencies.

if it is affiliated with a church, it is a tax free thing. Probably not that bad of an idea.

most of the organizations are tax free Non Profit groups...

Wouldn't Christian Debt Control mean selling all your stuff, paying your debts, and then donating the rest to charity?

Hmmm, I suppose you could learn all the "secrets" of Scientology; enslave yourself to them in exchange for a high rank and your own emeter.

Then when you owe those whackos several million dollars worth of indentured servitude, take the whole debt to one of these Christian Debt Control Corporations.

Also, I find it very amusing for christians to get involved in usury:

Thou shalt not lend upon usury to thy brother; usury of money, usury of victuals, usury of anything that is lent upon usury. --Deut. xxiii. 19.

If you're worried - you probably need to talk to someone who can help you set up "a plan of action." If you just worry & wait the interest rates will kill you. They are designed to put us in chains. Been there - done that. Cut up the cards now. Pay off the ones you can ASAP.

Example: Buying something on sale & on credit is insane. Too bad most of us didn't learn this the easy way in Ecomonics 101. Yeah, I know - we all made waaay too much cash in the 80's! Thought it was never gonna end, too didn't we? Start a 401K immediately...unless you are hand to mouth (& who isn't these days - it seems).

Once you get debt free you will be a new person and The Captain of your House & Ship. Didya know that Debt is the No. 1 reason for divorce in the USA. ? Best of luck. Empower yourself.
