VOICE lifts?!!
Just when I thought it couldn't get any worse...

If it helps your self esteem, I'd say go for it. Don't think that's the primary motivation, though.

Good for radio DJs...
*stifles laugh* AHAHAHAHAHA! God! That was stoopid! |
I think they need a "brain lift"
|
that's stupid...though i can't really blame 'em. with our society placing so much emphasis on youth and beauty and everything thats supposed to come with it, it was bound to happen...

Whatever happened to growing old gracefully?

Hmm... That gives me an idea...

I think that is really cool. I'd be curious to know if they could adjust your singing range up or down as well; I'd love to have a power-bass voice, but I'm a second tenor.
|
I don't see anything wrong with it at all.
|
There is no way I would do it, but if someone wants to, go for it. I would never let anyone fuck with my vocal cords. I'd be too scared that something bad would happen and I wouldn't be able to talk again. No way.

Actually, it makes your voice sound stronger and a bit louder.
There's no way of telling *what* your voice will sound like afterwards, and it's effect on your vocal range can be equally unpredictable... so a singer should really think twice before attempting it. Normally, it's a procedure reserved for people with problems in their voice after a coma, long illness or viral infection that have a hard time getting themselves heard when there's any other noise at all, like moderate social gatherings, or even on the phone. For them, it's a handicap. If you depend on your voice, it's highly dangerous to consider. And if you don't depend on your voice, it's not worth the cost/danger. |

Sooner or later they'll know how to modify your voice so that you can sound like a celebrity. Who needs cloning when you have plastic surgery?

Let's face it: there's no end to vanity when the money's there. |
Oh my god, being a singer, I would never ever mess with my vocal cords. Everyone gets older, everyone's voice will eventually fade, this is life. Why can people no longer deal with this fact? *sigh*
If you want to strengthen your voice, there are plenty of non surgical ways to accomplish this. But of course that would take effort and practice, and who has the patience for that anymore. |
