Need a Good Cell Phone Family Plan

Looking for a family cell phone for 3 people. Which is better

Cingular or Verizon Wireless for this sort of plan? At the moment

leaning towards verizon since reception is good. Let me of a

good plan and experiences you have had?

I have Cingular. I have never had a problem with reception, infact I had reception some places Verizon didn't. I absolutely love Cingular, I have had zero problems and their tech support is knowledgeable and friendly, unlike AT&T. I chose Cingular for a few reasons. 1) Cingular's phones are much nicer, they use newer technology which companies are making more phones for. TDMA is a thing of the past. This is the main reason why I don't have Verizon. I am just not a fan of their phones. 2) Rollover, There is nothing like getting your minutes back. 3) I paid for 1st incoming minute free, which is a majority of my calls. So I have even more minutes to my disposal. I have 600 anytime minutes with 2 other lines on my plan and it works great. Both Cingular and Verizon have free mobile-to-mobile. And don't forget Cingular and AT&T are merging so they will have even better coverage by the end of the year. I hope that helps out.

I have cingular to and love it. Rollover is awesome and comes in handy.

I think Verizon's promotion for free verizon to verizon calls is in effect, so if you were mostly calling each other, or others with Verizon phones you could buy low minute plans, and most of your calls would be free anyway. I've always had Verizon because they have the largest service area, but I hear Cingular and others are pretty good as well (I think they just bought AT&T to expand their coverage, didn't they?).

I have Sprint, and have never had a problem. If there's only 2 or 3 of you, and you don't call much, Sprint may make it able for you to get off for as little as $80 a month. Right now, I'm paying about $75 for two phones with 500 daytime minutes, unlimited night & weekends starting at 7.

It may seem a little more expensive, but the quality is much better.

I second this, plus PCS-to-PCS is free anytime, unlimited, at least in our plan...it's sweet. Totally worth it. Excellent roaming as well.

I use Cingular, and with the plan I'm on now, I get 450 anytime minutes and 1000 night and weekend minutes for $39.99 a month. It's their nationwide plan, so I don't pay anything for roaming or long distance. I can add another phone to the plan for about $15 a month and split the minutes. Also, rollover minutes come in very handy.

I HATED Sprint and was happy to punt them as soon as possible.

Dropped calls all the time, poor reception in the middle of the city, crappy customer service...never again.

I'm with Verizon now and I'm much happier.

Reception is great, fewer dropped calls and customer service was much more friendly.

Also, at least for me, the same price with more minutes.

Same story as Lebell but my previous provider was AT&T wireless. I hope that Cingular does away with the shitty aspects of AT&T when the acquisition goes through.

I've been with Verizon for almost 3 years and am very happy. When they make a mistake, they are easy to deal with.

Cingular tried to charge my son lots of minutes when he had the phone number put on hold as he was in Afghanistan. It took him months to settle the bill (which he didn't owe!) Personally, I go for good customer service every time.

I've had every different provider in Southern California that is available. Nextel, Verizon, Cingular, At&t, Sprint, and whatever else there is.

Nextel has the worst reception by far, but the free incoming call feature is nice--when you can get it.
Cingular has rollover minutes. That is totally awesome. Cingular's reception is better than Nextel but calls drop very frequently.
Sprint has gotten progressively better, in fact, I cant really say anything bad about them 'cause its been soo long since I had it.
AT&T's service is awesome. A bit pricey, but really great. Their customer service sucks with a capital S.
Finally Verizon. Verizon is the best that I've ever had. If everyone you know is using verizon, then all calls are free between each other. Any day, any time, whatever. And it doesnt count against your minutes either. Customer service is exceptional. Reception is phenominal! Just dont go over your alloted mins--woah $$$

Verizon is the one that I have presently. I had cingular before and never used all of my mins (I only had 400 a month) because the service was sooooo bad. Now that I have a signal constantly, I went over by 100 mins!
