Looking for a name of a law..
I can't seem to think of the name of the law that states how two or more unrelated things can trigger or affect something else. Anyone know?

Correlation without causation?

Hmm.. not exactly, it has someone's name in it..

Murphey's Law. Ha, no... that's "if anything can go wrong, it will." Which is where I think this thread is going... um, I wonder if there's a common example that goes with this law that you can think that might trigger some memories and help us out.

Is it related to the following link?
http://www.canoe.ca/JamBooksReviewsT..._gladwell.html I think I used to know what you're talking about...do you know what field of study the law/principle belongs to? |
The analytical psychologist Carl Jung wrote about Synchronicity, "an acausal connecting principle."
Is this what you're talking about? http://www.innerexplorations.com/catchmeta/mys3.htm |
I believe they call that a "coincidence"

Whats the senerio? It would be a little easier to determine if perhaps there was an example of some type of situation. All I can think of is a conflict of law but I'm not sure that deals with situations that are unrelated. Curious to find out the answer tho just for gp. Good luck on your quest.

the butterfly effect?
"the butterfly effect - the idea in meteorology that the flapping of a butterfly's wing will create a disturbance that in the chaotic motion of the atmosphere will become amplified eventually to change the large scale atmospheric motion, so that the long term behavior becomes impossible to forecast." good site with more explanation: http://www.fortunecity.com/emachines...6/beffect.html |
