US Tribute List

I'm not American.

I supported the war, but now do not. I think it's obvious that Bush/Blair lied to us and things are now only worse.

However, I have nothing against the troops out there and every single death is one too many.

Here is a tribute list of all American soldiers killed in this unfortunate war.

http://hovidos.com/tribute.htm

For the record, if there was one for Polish, Italian or British troops I would also post it. Top of my list would be one of the innocent civilians that have also died.

If you have a problem with the war, like I now do, blame the Administration, or your respective leaders. Don't blame the troops or the Iraqi people.

God/Allah/Jehova/Buddha grant them peace.

This cnn site has a complete list of US and coalition soldiers killed, with pictures of most of them.

Immensely sad.

EDIT: http://www.iraqbodycount.net/bodycount.htm is a list of media-reported civilian deaths, listed by incident. No names are available.

lordjeebus,

Thanks for sharing those links.

My aim was to increase awareness and to make the board stop and spend a moment considering ALL the deaths in Iraq.

I find it hard to really comprehend the magnitude of so many people dying. Looking at the faces of hundreds of dead soldiers is overwhelming.

Then I realize that the civilian deaths outnumber them by an order of magnitude. Thousands of dead people is too many for me to adequately internalize. Perhaps it is for the sake of my sanity that I can not.

And then I think of the wars and tragedies in human history when casualties were in the millions, and not only can I not begin to comprehend death on that scale, but I am truly terrified by our destructive power.

Thanks for the links. I can't say I ever supported the war, but I fully supported the soldiers who were there. My heart goes out to *every* family who lost a loved one as a result of it.

I think it is very responsible of CNN to post the soldier's names and faces. Amidst all the conflicting news reports, those lost represent the real and undisputable truth.
