I don't really organize my files. I reformat every few months, backing up only the essentials. If I can't find something, it clearly wasn't too essential, so off it goes.

I have one hard drive used for long-term storage of videos/music/etc, and then another hard drive for the applications and operating system. That way if I have to format, I dont loose anything that I want to keep. If I do save stuff to the OS drive, then I always put it in the "My Documents" folder, and then back that up if (when) I format. I also burn very important things to a cdrw once in awhile just in case.

Wow, just wow. What type of connection are you running that ftp off of? I couldn't imagine having that much and using that much space. What's the address of your ftp?

the disks are just called FTP... I don't run an actual FTP server myself, my cable connection only supports an upload of 16K/sec
which is waaaaaaaay to slow to do any serieous stuff

downloads however come in at 600K/sec

most of my stuff is gathered at lanparties

I've got 1 partition for Windows and 1 partition for Program Files, and subfolders including Applications, Media, Documents, Newsgroups, Putithere (upload dump folder).

That way if Windows fucks up I can just format my C: and keep my registry and installed programs intact for ever.
