October 10, 2003 -- WHILE men the world over drooled over the latest cover of Esquire, which featured Britney Spears mimicking a famed 1966 Angie Dickinson photo, Spears herself was livid. Sources say the singer - who appears in less and less clothing with each successive magazine cover - was "humiliated" by her bottom-baring pose, which had her standing sideways in a skin-tight sweater and white stilettos. The photo was shot by James White for Esquire's "70 Years of Women We Love" issue. "Britney thinks the pictures are too naked and is really angry at Esquire," a magazine insider said. "But really, is she out of her mind? I mean, her brother was at the shoot. Exploited? Is she crazy? Look at the photos she has done for everyone else. The Rolling Stone cover was practically naked, too - but she wasn't exploited by them?" Relations between Esquire and Spears have been frosty ever since editor David Granger thought he had an exclusive on the pop tart - and then she posed for other magazines without telling him. A rep for Spears declined comment.

It's a real pretty picture, there on the cover.

Yeah right she really is livid - she is doing anything for publicity and this is just another stunt. I'm waiting until she does Playboy, and then complains about the pictures.

I'm gonna have to agree... I think it was just a ploy by the publicist to get more people to look at the picture... (as I look at the lifesize picture of Britney in my dorm room).... But yes, she is a very beautiful girl and I don't necessarily think the cover was in bad taste

EXACTLY. If she didn't want to possibly have that photo anywhere, muchless the cover, why the hell did she allow it to be taken?

They show you the pictures before they publisize them. And some even ask your opinion on them. No fuckin way she didn't know she looked like that in the pictures. She's fuckin full a shit stupidest fuckin complaint I've ever heard.

I think it was summed up best in the Rolling Stone interview, when asked about her cocaine and sluttiness. She denied everything so much that it made it sound a little like lies. I think the line in the story was "Dost thou lady protest too much?"

In a couple of years, after playboy and a couple of adult videos, her boobs will start to sag and you will see her in line for welfare because million dollar purses don't do much if you have no money to put in them.

Y'know, who really knows what goes on in the mind of celebrities? They're people like you and me, they just have bigger bank accounts and have a whole lot more people looking at them a whole lot more frequently.

Maybe she says what she says to deflect too many people from calling her a tramp, and maybe she does it because she is, in retrospect, regretting the shoot. People do things they sometimes feel bad about later.

I think it's fair to say at this point that Britney is pretty unconcerned with how much skin she shows if the price is right. Between the various photo shoots she's done, there's no more a few inches of her body we haven't seen yet (unfortunately it's the best few inches). I can only assume that it was the check esquire sent her, not the outfit, that she thinks is too skimpy.

I find it very amusing that all the people here are bitching about Britney this and Britney that,...Are you all internationally known and multi-millionaires? I'd just like to say that I for one have very little respect for Britney Spears. In my opinion she has almost no talent and is way overrated. That is probably why she posed for this in the first place, to get publicity to make up for the fact that she hasn't an ounce of talent. But to be honest, i'm glad she is becoming more slutty, i'm enjoying it. I can only hope that she'll pose for playboy.
