How many shots in a bottle?
anyone know how many shooters are in a 750ml bottle? I'm keeping bottles at my place to have friends over on a regular basis, and I'm not trying to run a bar here, but I don't wanna pay for their alcoholism either. I want to figure out what a break-even price to ask for shots would be.
Any thoughts ? |
A shot is 50ml. What the world still refers to as a fifth is actually 750ml. Simple math 750/50=15. You said you weren't running a bar - make sure about what you are doing - legal ramifications on this one can really bite you in the ass.

i would reccomend passing a "collection plate" around now and again to ensure the continuing success of your little home-bar... especially at big parties when people are already loaded: drunks are "givers." beyond that, just be smart about it... ask your friends to replace the "dead soldiers" as they start to dry up. if your friends hold out on you, leave them hanging. it's that easy.

a 750mL bottle is roughly 25 1oz shots, or 17 1.5oz shots. And make your buddies buy the booze.

There is just enough for me to wanna fuck Oprah.
About five? |
You should have just asked the bartender directly!
Shot glasses are different sizes, but the most common size is one ounce. Bottles of liquor are different sizes too! 1 fluid oz. = 30 ml Do the math! Basically wraithhibn is right, 25 shots in a 750 33 in a liter. |
one...you people just use shot glasses that are too small

50ml shot is considered a double! @ least in most of the bars I go in.....
Oh yeah the Gov. think 25ml is a shot... Bring back two fingers and give me the biggest funkin bartender in the bar hehe (Old Hagar the Horrible Reference) |
That answer of "one" reminds me of that old Cheech and Chong skit (Lets Make a Dope Deal:)
Q:how many joints are in a lid A:one - I roll big joints. |
A shot/standard measure here in Australia is 30ml and in real bars, legally you have to use measuring cups every time.

I think the world will never know considering if you have a bottle of something someone always steal it and drinks straight outta it and steals it....unless you have it locked up.

Here is Europe a shot glass is properly filled at 4 centiliters (40 mL), thus 18.75 shots to the bottle.

I may never know. Every time I start a new bottle, I get part way through it, keeping good count of the shots I down. Then something happens and I wake up under the table and can't remember where I stopped counting.

Uk sizes,
70cl @ 25ml = 28 shots in general, only fortified wines and some flavoured liquors come in 75cl, but their all avaliable. |
I always wanted to know the answer to this as well, mainly because I was curious how much profit a bar makes on a single bottle of booze.
I was at a strip club on Firday night for a boys night out and they charge something like $7 a drink. 25 * 7 = 175. If they are measuring, they are easily making $150 (I am basing this on the price of Jack Daniels) profit on every bottle they buy. Wow. That is of course not counting the price of whatever they are mixing it with, which is usually nominal or else the drink costs more. |
