"Kerfucked"

Alright, so after a lengthy discussion in the TFP chat, it was unanimously decided against that I put up a thread to determine how to use the word "kerfucked".

Now, I wholly believe that it is a state of being, like being "screwed" or "fucked" even if your not really literally being fucked or screwed.

For instance, lets say you have a 100 page paper due tomorrow and havent started on it. I would say to you:

You are totally kerfucked!

Now, is there a kerfucker, or a kerfuckee? Is it possible to "kerfuck" something?

You, the trusty grammar experts can decide!

MacGnG 09-21-2003 12:08 PM

agreed that it's a state of being

Sapper 09-21-2003 12:32 PM

Sapper 09-21-2003 12:55 PM

Start using it .. people will adapt and embrace it :D

rogue49 09-21-2003 12:59 PM

I would use it as a description of putting down a lot of money you don't want to.

Like paying a HUGE bill, you are being screwed with.
Instead of saying you kerplunked down a ton of money.
you can say...

"I kerfucked a ton of money for this chick last night to impress her."

GoldenOuroboros 09-21-2003 04:21 PM

Or being payed alot less for you job or something

"Your work is kerfucking you'

tinfoil 09-21-2003 05:18 PM

It's the next level of fucked.

To cite your example, Yz, that guy isn't just fucked. He's beyond fucked. He's kerfucked,

GakFace 09-21-2003 05:25 PM

At first I thought it had to do with KFC... So if you got really bad chicken there, You have been Kerfucked! ;)

I had always heard the word in association with machinery that doesn't work properly. As in the phrase "I shifted into gear and the tranny went kerfuck."

i8one2 09-21-2003 08:39 PM

With a vocabulary as vast and borrowing from many different places, why used fucked? fuchen(an original spelling, from Germany no less), will help you be able to use your word without offending those delicate eyes of the youth or anyone else who might be offended with the work fuck.

Hence : KerFuchen, don't forget the umlauts!

i still stand by my original observation that it sounds like something one would do to get kicked out of henson's muppet studio.

i like that.

thinking along those lines...
you can say... Saddam Hussein is fucked...
but if it were the Jim Henson muppet version of Saddam... then he is kerfucked.

rockogre 09-22-2003 06:42 AM

Ah, if I only had a dollar for all the times I have been kerfucked!

Averett 09-22-2003 06:47 AM

My job is totally kerfucking me.

tj2001cobra 09-22-2003 07:46 AM

Not trying to hijack the thread, but I personally like "fucktard" or fuckstick" better. I know that the words are nouns and are easily used in sentences.

I can see Beaker saying something like that, yes.

I think Miss Piggy would be more apt to say she has been Kerfucked.....she is the one who was always trying to get in Kermits pants....so to speak.

Fucktard is a good one, but not as offensive as "kerfucked" is.

tinfoil 09-22-2003 06:02 PM

I like fuckwidget personally.

Esoteric 09-22-2003 06:17 PM

Never heard this word used before, very interesting.

Mutineer 09-22-2003 07:25 PM

Anyone know what the prefix *ker* means?
That might help with the correct usage part.
I like the word though.

I feel like I've been kerfucked without being kissed.

tinger 09-22-2003 07:46 PM

I don't think you're going to find the meaning by breaking down the word bit by bit.

Everytime I've heard it, it basically just meant the same thing as 'fucked.'

platypus 09-23-2003 05:44 AM

<b>Ker-</b> is an Indo-European root word meaning "to grow". In both Latin and Greek, it also means "horn" or "head",
with derivatives referring to horned animals, horn-shaped objects, and projecting parts.

"Horn"? As in horny?

"Head"? As in... well, this one is self-explanatory.

Horn-shaped objects and Projecting parts? Erections maybe?

There appears to be a "fuck" theme at work here.

The word "cervix" is derived from ker. Although cervix literally means "neck" in Latin,
we've definitely got a "fuck" relationship established.

If we take derivations of the root <b>ker</b> and add them to "fuck", we get:

cranium - Headfuck
cerebrum - Brainfuck
cornea - Eyefuck
capricorn - Goatfuck?

All this is interesting, but it doesn't really satisfy the true meaning of "kerfucked".

For my money, the <b>ker</b> in kerfucked is a perversion of the Latin root <b>per</b>, which means "completely". Thus,

<b>Kerfucked = Completely Fucked!</b>

OK, class. Pencils down.

Redlemon 09-23-2003 06:06 AM

I'm thinking ikerfuck is more of a soundalike formulation, coming from a word like "kerplunk" or even "kerfuffle" (a commotion or fuss).

Sounds like the description of what happens to you when your getting laid, woman on top and she sneezes all over you.

uncle phil 09-23-2003 04:07 PM

ker-CHOOO...

Fly 09-23-2003 07:31 PM

the way i see it.....you're all Kerfucked up anyways.

gwr_gwir 09-29-2003 10:36 PM

actually, as an alternative to using Kerfucked (not that it's a bad word, at all), try this: http://www.insults.net/html/swear/index.html ...
You can probably get away with a bit more of those in everyday language than you may with using Kerfucked. For example, you can curse someone out in Yiddish, and they'll have no idea what you're saying, but if you go and yell at them "You're Kerfucked!", they would probably take offense.
