I'm no doctor, but I think she might have SARs
|
i dont think dogs.. or even humans... bleed from having sars...
just have a flu and die... |
Poor puppy :(
I have no idea though... Call up a vet or humane society and talk to them, they might be able to thelp. |
A 4 month old puppy cannot have a period.
It's probably something else. Call a vet. Better yet, just bring her in. |
Definitely call a vet....maybe she has worms.
|
Poor thing! Take her to the vet pronto.....that's not normal at all and could be a symptom of a bigger problem and the sooner she is looked at the better off she will be. I don't mean to worry you in any way but at the very least please call and talk to your vet...they will let you know whether or not it is something that needs immediate attention.
I hope all turns out okay. |
Aww, yeah get that dudet to the vet!
|
Thats pretty wierd. My dog didn't have her first till at least 6 months old. Look at her paws, they should be completely black now or mostly black. That is a sign the dog is sick. And check her nose, that is also a good sign. If it is dry, get her some water quick. I know some towns have emergency rooms for pets, you might want to look in the yellow pages. I know what its like to have a sick pet, I hope everything is ok!

Well there...I didn't even know that fem dogs HAD periods. Freaky.
|
i think ALL mammals have periods...
uhh female mammals that is |
You should also make sure the blood really came from where you think it came from.
Four months is about the time pups are losing teeth. She may be losing puppy teeth, bleeding from her gums, and licking herself you-know-where. That would make it look like she's having reproductive bleeding, while there is a much more benign explanation. |
As far as I know animals don't have periods, they come in and go out of season.

bitches come on heat at certain times of the year. this can be seen by her nipples getting larger, and their behaviour changing. i've never heard of dogs having periods. at 4 months, that pup isn't sexually mature... was she wormed and vaccinated when you got her? let us know how it goes, and what the vet says. |
Blood spots are usually a sign of a female dog in heat (I've seen it before). But I agree with everyone else, the dog sounds a little too young for that. Best to have a vet check her out if you are sure about where the blood comes from.

I have a nine month old Akita who was spayed at 7 months. She has been having Urinary Tract Infection problems which caused some bleeding from the nether regions. She had one where she was peeing all of the time but no blood. The second one was treated came back a week after anti-biotic treatments were over and just finished her second round of meds. This infection caused her to have difficulty urinating and some blood, undiluted coming out. I would send her to the vet ASAP as to prevent damage to kidneys and other organs...Good Luck
