Filling crumbling apart as we speak

Oh I love my weak teeth. Maybe momma didn't give me enough milk as a child but I have some weak teeth. If I look ar a jolly rancher one of my teeth crack.

So I'm eating dinner one night last week and something crunched that shouldn't have. This sadly is old hat. I do my insta tounge check of my chompers and yes... there is a new divot. No pain, no shock even. Just a fallen filling.

So today I bite into a breakfast bar and low and behold... more of the tooth has found it's way free.

I smell root canal!!!

Called the dentist... were on a first name basis since I got dental insurance a couple years ago. He loves me and hates me at the same time. He sees me so often... but he hates my insurance.

Oh well dentist on Friday.

:(

well at least it wasn't painful

One of my friends in High School had half his tooth fall out, leaving half a tooth wrapped around the filling. It looked really painful, but he said it didn't hurt. I can't remember how they fixed it, but OUCH!!!

Haha.... thankfully my front teeth have never been an issue. It's just those damn cuspids in back.

You're making me cringe, I just had two fillings done this morning. I had avoided the dentist (shamefully) for almost 10 years. I finally gave in and thankfully I only had two small cavities. I hope all goes well for you, and here's to hoping mine stay right where they are.

Lost the front half of a molar to a piece of gum some years ago.

Earlier this year I was munching on a hardshell taco from TB, and it just decided to crack off. Still gives me the shivers.

Visit yer damn dentists. And for goodness sakes, brush your teeth!

I had a tooth with a temporary crown on it for sometime. I was in a car on my way to minnesota and I was chewing gum.

I bit down and came up and down again but on the way down I heard the crunch... I barely kept the car on the road. The temp crown came off..... talk about a heart stopper....

incedently... I rarely chew gum anymore.

FLOSS!!!!!!!!!

they're starting to tie gum disease to heart disease, liver failure, depression, car trouble, etc........

seriously, though, it takes a lot of energy for your body to fight off the bugs below the gumline, so floss 'em up!

I have an extremely strong bite and I shatter my teeth resulting in what you are experiencing. It may not be that your teeth are that weak but that your bite is too strong. Not much you can do for it, unfortunately. I have 10 crowns presently and a couple that will be in the next year or two.

GSRIDER 08-27-2003 06:28 AM

Crowns are so damn expesive.

i got my first bridge a couple months ago and with insurance I paid 900 out of pocket.

No cavities in 22 years...woohoo!
Brushing and flossing gets the credit.

GSRIDER 08-29-2003 09:29 AM

Damn you and your non cavities...

ooops I'm off to the dentist as we speak.

I don't even cringe at novicane shots any more.... even when I do open my eyes and see him wrenching the needle around in my gums...

ok I'm scared again and a mysterious throbing had begun on the side of my head.
