For time wasting try reading through the comments on any article posted at http://slashdot.org they are usually so long that if you are still interested by the time you reach the end of the comments for a particular article you have wasted a whole bunch of time.

For people turned off or overwhelmed by slashdot, I highly recommend http://alterslash.org/. It's a digest of the top stories and the high-ranking comments (with links to the orignal), with a more user-friendly interface.

I never liked slashdot until I discovered this place.
