Hussein Boys Breathe No More

Didn't believe the earlier report that they might have bought it. Now it's confirmed.

General: Saddam's Two Sons Killed in Raid

By SARMAD JALAL, Associated Press Writer

BAGHDAD, Iraq - Saddam Hussein (news - web sites)'s sons Odai and Qusai were killed in a six-hour firefight Tuesday when U.S. forces surrounded and then stormed a palatial villa in the northern Iraqi town of Mosul, a senior American general said.

"We are certain that Odai and Qusai were killed today," said Lt. Gen. Ricardo Sanchez at a news conference in Baghdad.

"They died in a fierce gunbattle," Sanchez added.

He told reporters that soldiers from the 101st Airborne Division were working on a tip from an Iraqi informant that the sons were present in the house.

When troops approached the building, gunmen inside opened fire with small arms. The "suspects barricaded themselves in the house" and "resisted fiercely," he said.

Sanchez promised a detailed briefing on the operation Wednesday.

"The bodies were in such a condition where you could identify them," he said. The identities of the other two dead were not known, he said.

Sanchez was asked about heavy gunfire that erupted across Baghdad about 10 p.m., believed to have been in celebration of reports that Saddam's sons had been killed in Mosul.

The general said the gunfire may have been in celebration over the son's death or hostile fire aimed at U.S. occupation forces. "It's very appropriate that they would celebrating about now," he said.

In Washington, L. Paul Bremer, Iraq (news - web sites)'s top civilian administrator, said he did not want to comment on how the deaths of Saddam's sons would affect security in Iraq.

However, Bremer said: "It certainly is good news for the Iraqi people."
Too bad they weren't taken alive, though. Could've been "persuaded" to reveal daddy's whereabouts.

crupdawg 07-22-2003 12:24 PM

nothin like a pair of aces to brighten up your day, now all we need is that coveted bullet to make 3 of a kind

Phaenx 07-22-2003 12:47 PM

Now all we need to do is put their heads on spikes, hurray.

rth621 07-22-2003 12:49 PM

It's a beautiful day in the neighborhood...

clavus 07-22-2003 01:16 PM

Couldn't have happened to a nicer couple.

Enjoy sucking flaming-demon-cocks in Hell, you sorry bastards!!

greydenn 07-22-2003 01:47 PM

Glad to see some good news lately regarding Iraq

bartgroks 07-22-2003 01:58 PM

U.S. forces surrounded and then stormed a palatial villa in the northern Iraqi town of Mosul....

They were living in a palatial villa and we just now found them!?
No wonder the troops have not found any WOMD.

Im glad they got these guys but it shows that were not in control of Iraq at this point.

papermachesatan 07-22-2003 02:04 PM

Hopefully Saddam's next....

vinnyferrozzo 07-22-2003 03:24 PM

about damn time we actuall got someone we were looking for. Now let's get Sadam and Osama

TaLoN 07-22-2003 03:31 PM

i saw the place where they were staying/where the fire-fight took place. this huge building was full of holes and the ground was covered in empty shells. our military knows how to fucking get things done

Phaenx 07-22-2003 03:45 PM

They fired aboot 9 tow missles into it, so yeah, we know how to blow the fuck out of things.

KillerYoda 07-22-2003 03:47 PM

But the real question is...did they have any WMDs in their posession?

Phaenx 07-22-2003 03:51 PM

They might have been good people to ask if they weren't in a dozen pieces right now.

MichaelFarker 07-22-2003 03:58 PM

I'm glad our soldiers were able to do this. They should be proud. The U.S. military can beat anyone else's military and maybe even everyone else's at once. Still, it has not done a good job at rebuilding countries. That is the key in this situation.

roggers 07-22-2003 04:02 PM

yea i saw that on the news, good ridence!

Cicero 07-22-2003 04:05 PM

Don't get me wrong, I'm extremely happy with the news, but it seems oddly suspicious that the History Channel aired a profile of Saddam's sons last night (probably a rerun). I wonder how far in advance that program was scheduled.

annie1 07-22-2003 04:24 PM

someone is a very rich person now though... reward for each of the sons... 15 million. they say they will be probably payi8ng off this reward to a single person that came forward with the info last night. double jackpot for them!

gov135 07-22-2003 04:37 PM

Hopefully this means that less Iraqi youth will be tempted to take potshots at allied armed convoys with handguns and slingshots.

clavus 07-22-2003 04:59 PM

Interesting sidenote

Uday's name is pronounced "YOU die." But once his name started being spoken in the US media, they changed it to "OO day." I guess it wasn't politically correct to talk about killing a guy named "you die."

Reminds me of when they changed the name of Uranus from "Yer anus" to "Urin us."

Actually ... lol ... if you were to pronounce the name in arabic, from the traditional sanscreet ... it would NOT be "you die" ... indeed it is: "oo dai"

LOL ...

When will people realize that there are more languages than solely english?

brad-va 07-22-2003 06:43 PM

Great news. Its good to hear of some progress when everyone is questioning why we're still over there. Go Troops!

hehehe. Reminds me of a T-shirt I saw not to long ago. "When it Absolutely, Positively has to be Destroyed Overnight! - U.S. Marines. Glad to hear they got those two piles of human waste. Couldn't have happened to a nicer pair. Now hopefully Saddam and Osama are next.

"Sanscreet"?? Is that like Sanscrit?

Please forgive my white-boy ignorance. I based my assumption on an article I read in Pravda (English version).

PS - Elif air ab tizak!

dizuke 07-22-2003 08:00 PM

Who cares how we're supposed to pronounce it...I think the proper pronunciation is "Fuck Stick"!!!!

Die Mutha Fucker-Semper Fi!

hawkeye 07-22-2003 08:08 PM

this is great. two down and two to go.

dim5 07-22-2003 08:50 PM

I gotta wonder. Is the guy who's getting the reward going into some equivalent of the witness protection program? He's done the US of A a great service, but he's also made a lot of enemies. I hope he gets a chance to enjoy some of his reward. We (the USA) need to treat him well so that it's an example for others...

Drider_it 07-22-2003 09:14 PM

*Drider breaks out his two small AMERICAN FLAGS and DANCES a jig..* OO DAI... ooooo ddaaiii.. toe missles come and snuff you both.. hey loser oo dai tell satan hi.. oo dai hide and uncle sam come..

hehe.. sorry.. i dont care if they had WMD they were ones that funded terroist groups.. they help other kill helpless civilians.. good ridiance

crow_daw 07-22-2003 10:14 PM

Have fun getting fisted in Hell, you rancid dead men.

thephuse 07-22-2003 10:27 PM

thass some good news...
how do we know these arent like... look alikes like saddam had..

limproach 07-22-2003 10:43 PM

thank goodness

JStrider 07-22-2003 11:07 PM

i think it would have been infinitely better to have taken them alive and been able to interogate them and whatnot and then sent them off to trial...
not only would that have been better information wise but i have already heard reports that some countries are saying by killing them the US is stooping down to their level...

i think capturing them alive would have been better... but not worth the life of a single soldier...

Zeld2.0 07-22-2003 11:09 PM

capturing would be better in the long run

great to celebrate now but you'll really kick yourself in the ass later when you realize they had info you can't get anywhere else other than from saddam.. and saddam can't be found because you killed 'em

Phaenx 07-22-2003 11:11 PM

There's no way in hell they would have come peacefully. And even then, Saddam was one of the most paranoid leaders ever, so I doubt he told even his kids where he's hiding.

Buk 07-22-2003 11:12 PM

I'm glad we got them, but its too bad we didnt get them alive. I guess its one of those "We won't be taken alive!" type of scenarios but I'd have loved to see those assholes put on trial.

Now if only we could find their dad.

darkshade 07-22-2003 11:13 PM

nice to hear some good news for once

H12 07-22-2003 11:24 PM

If you follow South Park much, you'd know that Satan is Saddam's bitch already. I wonder if his children will get the same fortune or not.

Brian Fellows 07-22-2003 11:41 PM

Good Riddance!

dizuke 07-23-2003 04:16 AM

I think if we had gotten them alive, they would have told us NOTHING, let's not forget who they were!

Wouldn't be France you're talking about, would it? Fuck them! They weren't there. They never have been.

We didn't walk in there and execute these bastards. It was a four hour fire fight. I wouldn't be surprised if we find out the mutant spawn took their own lives.

Mupwah 07-23-2003 06:43 AM

Saddam is probably having a hissy fit

actinic 07-23-2003 06:56 AM

Geezuz 07-23-2003 07:14 AM

Why the hell weren't Saddam, his sons, and all of his henchmen taken out in a more discreet manner in the first place? Sure... It's great that those pieces of shit were killed, but it's a repeat of Afganistan. Blow the shit out of the entire country, and spend a pile of time and money searching for the "remains" of the primary targets. Give me a Break! Instead they get to play the guessing game.....Are they still alive or not?....Are Saddam and Osama still a threat? Now another shitload of time and money must be spent on rebuilding these countries, while the people suffer more than you and I will HOPEFULLY never know! Snipers my friends, silent assault teams! I don't believe that a full on, all out war was the right way to obtain the objectives we needed. Were these wars made for T.V. ratings or what? Not only are the people of Afganistan and Iraq suffering, but the rest of the world still lives under the constant threat of more terror attacks, because we don't have 100% validation that the rest of these terrorists are gone. In the meantime, world leaders involved in this war try to communicate a false sense of security.

The entire world is now walking on eggshells. Now we have North Korea, Syria, Iran, and probably many other countries that are possible threats. One of them could end up doing something really stupid? Shit! Where does it end? Does every country in this world need to be blown to shit before we feel safe? Does that make any sense?

Geezuz 07-23-2003 07:34 AM

Ya! I am from Canada!

We have a canoe, and a sling-shot!

We proudly display our weapons of mass destruction! Strong Beer and Newfoundland Screech...Gauranteed to give people Massive Hangovers!

We couldn't send a special forces team to just take out the leadership of Iraq because there is a law here in the U.S. saying that we cannot assassinate the leadership of another country.

In this case it was a four-hour firefight. So they were killed in the heat of battle and the law doesn't apply to this situation.

And as far as creating more threats, North Korea, Syria, and Iran were considerded threatining nations before we went to war with Iraq.

gov135 07-23-2003 07:49 AM

Two more US soldiers killed today. I was hopng that some of the resistance would back down after the Iraqi public realized some of their old leaders were gone.

07-23-2003 09:54 AM

The whole assination law is bullshit. We can't deploy a small division of snipers to shoot sadam, but we can launch 30million dollars worth of missles at every knowen target he might be at.

I am dissapointed Saddams son's died instead of being captured, I think it would have been much more of a victory. You say, there was no way the could but if they were sourrounded in that villa they could have had a standoff to negotiate surrender or use non lethal tactics. This mans two children died and we watch people cheering and celebrating on television that they were elimated. I have seen the profiles claiming how horrific they both are but really, we have no idea what sort of people they were. I guess I just feel that although the proper action would have been to stop/kill/detaine them, it is wrong to boast that their two lives are a victory of american troops.

Ishamael 07-23-2003 11:35 AM

Thanks for speaking up, send your resume to Rumsfeld and we'll have you start on monday since you're apparently a strategic genius.

Also, the pussy Carter "no assasinations because I'm a girl" law no longer exists, as of a few years ago.
