I just got banned from an RV forum.

I make animated cartoons and I posted this one in an RV forum where I have posted before and had no complaints. But after posting this one my account was shut down and all my post removed with no explanation. I don't get it????

The_Jazz 04-13-2011 11:06 AM

Maybe they lack a sense of humor? Or maybe they agree with me and don't find it that funny?

Good thing "not funny" isn't a bannable offense; I'd have been out of here years ago.

I agree it is not one of my best, but to be banned is a little much. I have had a few good comments left on my YouTube site about it.

Wandrin 04-13-2011 11:17 AM

That seems a little odd that they would do that. The video is not offensive. Does the site have a rule about posting videos? Or perhaps they thought that you were posting someone else's copyrighted work?

Is it a site I have heard of? (I live in a Bluebird)

Strange Famous 04-13-2011 12:22 PM

I dont get it?

Is it a joke?

Whats an RV forum?

---------- Post added at 09:13 PM ---------- Previous post was at 09:10 PM ----------

Ive watched this video three times. Is it a joke? Its unsettling in a strange way... what they are saying sounds like a conversation but the voices sound computer generated and utterly disconnected from the actual things that they are saying? Is it supposed to have a darker meaning? Is it about the meaningless of life?

And what does RV stand for????

---------- Post added at 09:22 PM ---------- Previous post was at 09:13 PM ----------

Why does the wife marry the woman if all he wants to do is go fishing?

I dont mean to go on but these video's are really bugging me now.

You can go the Youtube account and see them all. They are nearly all about a guy who wants to go fishing and his wife doesnt want him too... I dont get it.

No they don't have a rule that you cant post videos. I posted it in the fishing section of the forum where they encourage pictures and videos. I have tried to get a response from the administrator but nothing so far. I have permission from the software creators to post anywhere. I really don't want to mention their name (RV Site) I'm not wanting to bash them. I just don't understand what the big deal is.

It is just a little fishing humor. It is kind of based on Dagwood and Blondie. (I'm talking older comics here) RV stands for Recreational Vehicle. Some of my cartoons are fairly popular, not all but some. Maybe you need to upgrade your speakers? I can hear them speaking just fine.

Cynthetiq 04-13-2011 12:47 PM

iFish, he doesn't get that pita bread is not the same as pizza dough, so you may be wasting your breath, er typing fingers.

Craven Morehead 04-13-2011 12:51 PM

OK, maybe i've been married longer than most here but I chuckled.

Certainly can't see this one video as a banable offense.

dlish 04-13-2011 12:57 PM

im with craven too.. i chuckled too..geez im coming up to 10 years.

maybe that forum's run by women? just sayin...

Strange Famous 04-13-2011 01:00 PM

I'd just tell my wife I was going fishing and she obviously accept it. You cant stop a man with 4 Y chromosones from going his own way....

Brits with 4 Y chromosomes.

StanT 04-13-2011 01:19 PM

Got me, perhaps they object to promoting the animation software?

Men with four Y chromosomes might have to be supervised on their fishing trip, considering it's a chromosomal abnormality that often causes severe mental retardation.

Oh I get it! French Class!!!!!

EventHorizon 04-13-2011 02:54 PM

maybe you got banned because there was offensive lack of humor in the video

Baraka_Guru 04-13-2011 05:44 PM

Oh, that's simple:

http://i170.photobucket.com/albums/u...fp/lbw3jpg.jpg

dlish 04-13-2011 08:20 PM

well at least it beats Rugby, where playing the 'advantage' gives the ref the right to ignore the rules of the game to keep the flow of the game going.

Strange Famous 04-14-2011 10:37 AM

Leg Before Wicket

The point is any Aussie, British, Pakistani or Indian, etc could answer that.

Perhaps as its easy for any American to know what an RV is. You shouldnt assume though that everything in your country is widely known internationally.

And the LBW rule is simple.

A player is out LBW if the ball strikes his pad, foot or leg first (or in fact any part your body although you would have to be in a wierd position to get hit on the shoulder and be LBW) and

1 - would have gone on to hit the wicket in the judgment of the umpire
2 - did not pitch outside leg stump
3 - did not pitch outside off stump ONLY if the batsmen was offering a shot

Obviously you cant be LBW to a no ball

_

As for advantage rule, I cannot see what can be clearer? The Ref will clearly state if he is playing a penalty advantage or just a knock on advantage, and will also clearly state "advantage over" at the point he will no longer go back to the original penalty because the team offended against has already had an advantage from the course of play.

jannista 04-14-2011 01:08 PM

What a slap in the face for you, poor thing!

Anormalguy 04-15-2011 11:25 AM

I chuckled, have been married 24+ years.

Not sure I see why you'd get banned. As someone mentioned, maybe it was the promotional bit at the end of the vid.

Getting banned is water under the bridge for me now. I was just a little peeved about it when I made this post.

i guess you've forgotten that back in teh day those 5m forward passes were ignored because everyone just wanted to see the attacking side score.

as a rugby league supporter i found union rules really flexible when it came to interpretation.

ifish, you got any more video? id be interested to have a look at more of your work

dlish, I had a change of mind about new discussion. Anyway here is my newest animation.

The_Jazz 04-15-2011 04:24 PM

Wow. I really hope you're a better fisherman than comedian. Otherwise you'd starve.

Man reading that LBW explanation made my head hurt...and I still don't understand...course I am a real Georgia redneck and that may be the problem.
...Rugby...???

I laughed at both of your videos - I think they're quite clever.

I'm reluctant to post these, something that makes one person chuckle just wont do it for the next person. Kinda like some people like Don Rickles and some people cant stand him. Martha Stewart is another one that you like her or not???

Yes, I am probably much better fisherman than animator but I have been fishing for 35 years here in Wa. State

OK this is the last one I will post here. This one is my favorite but it didn't do as well as most.

Strange Famous 04-16-2011 07:58 AM

Yeah, that last one is pretty creepy.

I'd recommend sticking to the fishing stuff.

dlish 04-16-2011 10:42 AM

ifishvideos, you should show us your catch!

here's a thread you can post in to show off what you've done over the last 35 years ;)

I have to admit that I haven't bothered to actually watch the videos, but the first frame shown on the Youtube embed looks a whole lot like the animation from Family Guy.

And what the fuck is a "wicket"?

The wicket is the stumps and bails that the batsmen defends, but normally "wicket" is used in sense of getting a player out (just like a batsmen being struck out or caught in baseball)

Cricket is no more complicated than baseball, its just what you're used to.

There's an interesting conversation to be had about why all of the top four sports in America/Canada have limited following around the world (fair enough basketball is taken more than semi seriously in some places, but ice hockey, gridiron, baseball really arent played professionally outside of the US or its immediate neighbours)

But thats for somewhere else... we should distract from the "guy wants to go fishing, wife doesnt" video's

_

I dont get why the perfect girlfriend speaks English with a strong accent, likes fat hairy men, and doesnt care about not getting bought presents or her boyfriend watching strippers. I would have thought the perfect girlfriend would just be someone who had her own career and couldnt care less if the boyfriend went salmon fishing every weekend. (maybe if she was a good cook and knew a lot of fish recipes would be a bonus?)

Oh I know, it's just fun to give you British guys a hard time about stuff like playing cricket and still having a Queen.

edit: I just watched the videos, you should collaborate with this guy

BadNick 04-16-2011 06:19 PM

I liked all of them except the last one where she said "...I mean, I don't care" ...that made me a bit sad since it reminded me of my Chinese friend who went to Russia, married a nice blonde Russian young lady, who then left him after they bought a house in Florida. The really weird thing is, he went to Florida to start a fishing business. Creepy or what?

As a club level union player, I'd say that yes there is a great deal of flexibility in interpretation. I'd say that half of learning to play is learning how deal the your ref for the day. I actually watched league for the first time today. I can't say I prefer it to union, but since it's the only rugby I've seen on TV in the last five years (other than sevens *gag*), I'll take it. Not that this has anything to do with the thread...

On topic, the second one made me chuckle. The last one was a little weird.
