WINNER ANNOUNCED!!! TFP 30 in 30 $100 and $50 Amazon Gift Card giveaway!

I'm sitting here on Broadway and Great Jones at an outdoor cafe. It's really cold out and I'm thinking fo somethings to get the TFP community energy to keep going. I'm trying to promote posting 30 threads in 30 days. I just got a promotion and I figured I'd give something back to the community from that promotion. So here it is, I'm going to give away $100 and $50 Amazon gift cards.

In other words, if you create more threads and/or if you post more, there's more opportunity and chances to win.

The drawing is 9:00 PM Eastern Standard Time, December 19, 2010, just in time to get some last minute Christmas shopping in.

Fine print:
Exempt forums are Humor, Fun Zone, Found on the Net, Ladies Lounge, Exhibition, and Members Playground. Threads of similar nature to Daily Quote, This Day In History will also be exempt from the drawing.

Staff is also ineligible to win.
Screw it. Staff is also eligible to win. Staffers need to step up the game and post more threads and make more responses.

Also during this time, our standards of discussion and debate still stand. OPs should be created with thought and not just single line toss ups. Responding posts should also not be zingers and other post fodder. Remember the idea is to promote discussion in a mature fashion.

Good luck and I look forward to seeing the discussions that will be coming!

UNFAIR!!!!

I wrote a WHOLE article yesterday!

Cynthetiq 11-18-2010 10:49 PM

Just keep on doing it to it.

Willravel 11-18-2010 11:46 PM

This doesn't make a lot of sense.

Good luck with it.

What if my posts are just one word responses? Does that count?

No, we'll be reviewing the winners for quality.

What he said.

That's why I stated:

Wow, I picked the right time to swing by the Forums again. I've always kinda felt like I've popped into TFP when it's convenient for me and I've asked a lot of questions about random things and I've gotten exceptional advice. I kinda owe it to the joint to give back with some quality. I'll ask a few more questions because I've got some things on my mind I think TFPers could help, but I'll see if I can meet this challenge and sustain a presence here, hopefully more contributor than leech.

Glad you put an emphatic footnote about quality.

Don't know how to Reply

I'm not sure even how I got onto this site but the administrator asked me to post something. I'm not even sure what the TFP is about. I joined the site a LONG time ago. I guess I'll find out what this site is about after I've been on it for awhile.

Until I gave birth to my first child, I was a stomach sleeper. One pillow. Average firmness. No stuffed animals. Don’t even recall sleeping positions with bed partners; sleep came easily. With motherhood came multiple night risings and sleep came of sheer exhaustion. No thought involved. When I slept with a husband/partner, I’d sleep on my side, preferring the spoon position. Whenever I was pregnant, there was always a pillow between my knees and absolutely had to have the husband/friend touching somewhere (sometimes just toes) to fall asleep.

When I have a longterm SO, I still sleep the same way. But when I’m alone, I position and scrunch the huge, down alternative pillow so that it keeps my neck from cricking (izzat a word?) and raises it at the same time, allowing better breathing when I have a cold or allergy. I use the second pillow for my arm, as I sleep in this space somewhere between my stomach and side and it somehow keeps my arm from waking up stiff and pillow-imprinted. But when I have a man in my bed, the touch factor absolutely must be there.

How many pillows do you sleep with? Do you have a must position? Do you sleep differently when you’re alone? Has it changed over the years? Do you still sleep with your childhood stuffed animal or a vibrator under your pillow? Does alcohol change your sleep pattern?

I like tattoos. It's body art to me. But like many of the arts, there is some really bad work out there. It's a matter of taste.

Thank you guys for participating and I hope that you guys continue to participate! Congratulations to all of you guys who added new threads and posts the past month. I hope to do this again in the future.

Again, congrats to the winners!

oooh crepes! what crepe pan?

snowy 12-20-2010 09:17 AM

Well, it's not a true crepe pan, because it's also good for omelets, making pancakes, and making all kinds of egg things. The one I had got scratched and the nonstick was starting to peel. :(
