Okay, who's got a couple mil to lend me??? Anyone??? Anyone???

I've always dreamed of living in something like this, it's just freakin' awesome.

Anyone else have a dream home they'd love to have??

Plan9 11-07-2010 09:57 PM

Want. And you can edit the link, chief.

dlish 11-07-2010 10:09 PM

dont want.

if you boys want to live in a cave, im sure i can find my boy osamas number lying 'round somewhere. No reception in the cave though, so you might have a hard time connecting.

after you've found him we can go halvies on the bounty, and you can buy your cave-house, and ill buy a mansion-castle in scotland.

Oh Dlish, I do love it when you cater to current Muslim Mad Bomber stereotypes.

RogueGypsy 11-07-2010 11:47 PM

Castles are good too. Above ground cave, right?!

It's just as much to do with the surrounding acreage (though 1000+ would be better), flowing water, thermal mass, geothermal heating, desert and awesome interior.

Oh and the unlimited firing range is nice too. I could play with the big boys there.

I think I could handle living in this house....

Fotzlid, is that house on Lake Louden? If it is, I think you've posted one where I know the owners. Which is kind of crazy.

i want that giant yacht that doubles as a mansion. i mean, come zombie invasion time, you all are going to be fucked when they just climb on top of one another over your walls

CinnamonGirl 11-08-2010 02:52 PM

Oooh....let's pool our money together, and then win the lottery, and share the house. I'm sure it's big enough :)

As for my unattainable dream house, I've always wanted a souped-up treehouse. Think Swiss Family Robinson, or, if you've played Baldur's Gate II, Suldanessellar. I climbed trees constantly as a kid, and it always felt like I had my own little world up there among the branches.

Something like this would be awesome...just a bit higher up (and with a retractable staircase) :

I see your cave house and I raise you this cave castle

It's Predjama Castle in Slovenia, this version of it built 1570 and now a museum, and it connects via secret passage to a huge cave system (so big it has a cave train!)

ok, if its caves we're talking about...

I'd voluntarily cut off my left nut and roast it over a fire if I could get me some of this place.

Luxury Farm/Ranch/Plantation in Carbondale Colorado United States

I'd just build a small home on some cozy corner on the property and voila instant heaven on earth.

Oooooooooooowww, that's enough room for a Barrett and some other Big Boy toys.

Darn right, unload that sumbitch and no anal "I have kids playing in the back yard, and quit shooting at my bird feeders!!!!" neighbors to harsh your buzz.

Space is just such an awesome thing, my goal in life is to literally get lost on my own property.

Xerxys 11-10-2010 11:40 PM

That castle in Germany is magnificent like no other! I swear to God I will build one like it one day. I don't care if I have to sell mine and my mothers soul, sacrifice my grandmother and mortgage my childrens' lives. I WILL fucking DO IT!!

I hear ya. After living at Lake Powell with 280 sq. miles of, do what ever the fuck you want, it's hard to go back to 'community' living. I moved to the county so I could shoot in my back yard again, unfortunately I'm in a private development and the home owners association voted to disallow the discharge of firearms 3 months after I moved in. Fuckers. I guess my neighbor smokin' coyotes at 4 in the morning with his .50 cal muzzle loader was bothering someone. Bitches.

Missing my trigger time, I got into Pellet guns. No not BB guns. Pellet guns. I discovered a few things real quick. They can cost as much or more than firearms. Enthusiast hunt big game (Deer, hog, Buffalo) with big bore models. They are way more accurate than any fire arm I've ever owned. They are not what I remember shooting as a kid and my trigger technique is years ahead of what it was.

If I had Bill Gate's money: I'd buy Southern Utah, Invite all my friends to pick a couple square miles to plant a house. Then spend the rest of my life breaking off-road vehicles and doing my best to create a world shortage of lead with all my friends.

You're invited.

I like the Tragically Hip.

I've looked at those silo's too. Back in the late 80's when I was graduating high school, you could get one for about 20K, bare. My friends and I had the idea to buy a couple and build homes into them. Nothing as elaborate as some I've seen, but the same idea. We went to a friends father for financing (owned 2 oil companies), he thought we were crazy. "No one would ever live in a hole in the ground boys. Even the caveman would rather live in a tent." Is what he told us. Now his oil companies are broke and they're getting 2.5 mil for holes in the ground. :shakehead:
