Please, please....

.... Somebody tell me this is a prank website. Anybody?

http://www.babyink.com/

The_Dude 07-08-2003 07:50 AM

sure hope it's fake, or are there parents like this?

i looked thru the info link there and here is one of the questions

"Can you take a check from my overdrawn account that I closed 2 years ago?
No. We accept cash and major credit cards."

i'm questioning the site now.

holy fucking shit, check out their gallery

http://www.babyink.com/gallery.html

looks real

gov135 07-08-2003 07:53 AM

It has to be fake.

A four year old child that gets a tatoo is not gonna be pleased with how it look by the time she hits twenty. Cause the tatoo would look like a big blob, you can't "grow into" tatoos. Ever seen a pregnant woman with a tatoo on her belly?

nowthen 07-08-2003 07:55 AM

The gallery is what freaked me out, the shot of that little girl with a scorpion on her forearm is tragic if it is real.

ReggErving 07-08-2003 08:02 AM

If it is real then those are the worst parents I have heard of, I pray this site is fake.

MikeyChalupa 07-08-2003 08:15 AM

It is probably not real. I can't find anything on Snopes yet, but I'l sure it'll be there in a few days.

The gallery doesn't convince me; the close-ups are too close to show scale. They could just as easily be adult tatoos. The shots of the kids getting inked are too far to show if they are real or not. And, the tattoos are finished already, there's no "reddening" of the skin around the art, like in the close-ups, they are most likely temp tattoos. Even the kid in the Raiders jersey I'm sure is faking the cry.

I checked the addresses and the first one, 743 Rainier Ave, WA, 98055 is actually in Renton, a suburb of Seattle, and is a Wal-Mart. The second, 2301 WEST Wellesley Ave, Spokane, WA 99205 is another Wal-Mart. I haven't checked the others, I'm satisfied it's fake.

thanks!

nowthen 07-08-2003 08:22 AM

Thanks!

Darkblack 07-08-2003 08:34 AM

I am glad...I would be calling someone about it if not. That is child abuse plain and simple. I would get the parents arrested and the tattoo shop closed down and his license revoked.

Shit like that is not even funny. I don't know why people even fake it.

Way to check up on the addresses though.

gov135 07-08-2003 08:37 AM

WalMart is tatooing children? :D

WhoaitsZ 07-08-2003 10:04 AM

HAHAHHAAHAHHAHAHAAH

that's funny. of course its not real!

-laughing-

YourNeverThere 07-08-2003 10:13 AM

BAhahahaha when i saw the name of the website i was hoping thats what it was! i saw a kid with a temp. tattoo the other day and thought about how strange it would be for a baby to get a real one. Of course its fake. The skin not being red is a big one. or the tattos being bloched. They would be red and scabby in the weeks after, and kids pick scabs, no matter how much you tell them not to. The tattoos would have white spots all through them, and if the addresses are walmarts then ya, its probably fake, not faking hiliarity though!

BBtB 07-08-2003 10:28 AM

God damnit. I want it to be real.

troit 07-08-2003 10:31 AM

First saw this thread and was getting ready to yank it -- then realized its a fake -- phew!

danfitzpatrick 07-08-2003 10:33 AM

Glad it's fake, it would be real messed up if they were real.

If it was real though, how cool would that kid with the Batman tatto be in school!

Amethyst 07-08-2003 05:45 PM

Thank God that is fake. I couldn't imagine that any parents would put there young children through that. From what I hear it can be painful. I don't have any so I don't know for sure. But I am so glad it is fake.

Frowning Budah 07-09-2003 04:03 PM

Brings up an interesting question, how about the parents who get their babies ears pierced? That always seemed wrong to me.

Yes indeed! A system of tattoo barcodes will ensure that the next generation of shoppers are VERY good customers.

grayman 07-10-2003 12:34 AM

A very funny, satirical website done well enough to fool people. Bravo.

Nothing gets by Snopes.

Reese 07-10-2003 05:20 AM

Ear pierced isn't permenent. When these kids get older there is no way they could remove the tattoo without alot of money and it's not gone, just faded and scarred. At least with an earring, it only cost about 2 seconds to remove the ring, and you're left with a hole that you won't even pay attention to.

Mongolguy 07-11-2003 03:58 PM

This was set up buy the guys from AJ's playhouse (933 fm) as an april fools day joke. And it's still going.

bermuDa 07-11-2003 04:33 PM

hahaha about as funny as bonsaikitten.com ^_^

GSRIDER 07-16-2003 07:21 AM

BABY INK TATTOOS.... WTF!?!?!?!

I just found this site and thought it was a joke. Baby Ink Tattoos, they are a shop that caters to children. Ok they must apply non permanent tattoo... hmmm.. wait ... no

THEY ACTUALLY TATTOO CHILDREN above the age of 6 month.... 6 MONTHS!!!!!!!!

That is fuckin wrong IMO. I am covered in Tattoos, and I don't care how cool I think it would be I am not marking my child until my child is old enough to make the proper desision on his/her/his own.

Do you know what a tattoo will look like 30 years down the road when the kid is only 31? All the sunburns, scratches, scuffs and daily kid stuff will leave a colored artist bruise by the time the kid is old enough to show it off at the bars.

This ... hands down is fuct

GoldenOuroboros 07-16-2003 07:24 AM

I agree with you..

Phaenx 07-16-2003 07:25 AM

Old. Fake.

Daval 07-16-2003 07:26 AM

agreed. fake.

GSRIDER 07-16-2003 07:28 AM

Thats a damn extensive website to be a joke.

Minx 07-16-2003 10:22 AM

They can't be serious! Someone...please say they aren't serious.
If so...well this is just f***ed up.

Phaenx 07-16-2003 10:37 AM

In the previous thread it was decided that it was fake because someone looked for that address and it didn't exist or something, I don't quite remember. But if you look at the tattoos there are some odd things as well. First being why it came out so well, and why it's not red. There was a predominant thought that it wouldn't come out well, since kids enjoy picking at scabs, and you can't do that with tattoos. The lack of redness is also odd, not having any tattoos I wouldn't know, but I can imagine.

Soggybagel 07-16-2003 11:24 AM

Its fake people. I mean come on this is obviously a joke. Hell in 3 seconds on Snopes I found it too.

Of course SNopes is down now but seriously its fake.

rat 07-16-2003 11:32 AM

lol don't know what to think of that one. some people will do anything to get a rise out of society

butthead 07-16-2003 12:38 PM

Guys.

Wanna know how I figured out it was a fake?

Search google for babyink.com (anything this controversial is bound to have google results), then look at some person in San Diego's weblog. Then check out the radio station website of the station the person mentions and sure it enough it was an April Fool's joke.

World's King 07-16-2003 01:30 PM

That's too funny.

It may be wrong and fake but if I could have gotten tattooed when was 6 I would have jumped all over it.

frankx 07-17-2003 06:25 AM

Goddamn, gotta love that Snopes site!!!

MikeyChalupa 07-17-2003 06:45 AM
