Taylor Swift showed up in town yesterday to give two college boys a hug. See ahugfromtaylorswift.com for more information on that. Taylor has been posting a series of video challenges (on Twitter?) since January, and the final challenge was to arrange a group of people for a karaoke sing-a-long of You Belong With Me. A guy in the audience took this video. I'm not a huge fan, but it is kind of cool that she showed up in Auburn, of all places.

Oh, I guess people would like getting a hug from Taylor Swift.

I had no idea who Taylor Swift was until 30 seconds ago. I kinda thought it would be a football player or something. What's so unexpected about a beautiful woman giving hugs?

She's this generation's Britney Spears. Even more so. Top songs. Grammys. Origin of popular meme "I'ma let you finish but..."

Not my cuppa tea, but definitely a pop culture icon at the moment.

I knew about her vaguely, but I always viewed her as a "country" Avril Lavigne.

Me neither, I only remember her because of before mentioned pic & the story about kanye being such an ass to her at the grammys. It was kinda a big thing.

For those not familiar with Taylor, she doesn't have the greatest voice in country music, but she writes all her own songs. She is definately a gifted writer, and nice to look at too.

You asked earlier "What is so special about a girl giving hugs?" and then you answered your own question...

I will restate it however...

Taylor Swift is special because, unlike you, she will travel across the country to meet people she has never met before, and hug them.

If, all of a sudden you decided to duplicate this behavior, then perhaps taylor switfh would be slightly less special, and you slightly more special.

I was like "OH SHI~ ALIENS ARE TAKING OVER"

Her greetings to the crowd looked a ~tad~ bit manufactured, I can't really quite put my finger on it... but otherwise it was like 99% perfect. I know the entire purpose of this enterprise is to replicate a perfect clone of a ... what do we call it? A music idol, an icon, a .. Goddess?

Anyway I'm sorry to be a critic, just explaining things through my eyes.

Good on them!
