Breast reduction, it makes me angry. (NSFW)

I live in a mid sized town with around est pop. of almost 100.000. In a newly opened clinic that do among other breast reduction surgery. According to an interview they do a round 2-3 operations a week, that's a terrifying number in a mid sized town. I have also seen adds for reduction, lesser back pain, neck pain (fair enough) but more odd arguments like more easy to find cloths, more self esteem (not likely) and so on. If the breasts are sagging some thats perfectly fine, and then we men also know they are natural. Another strange fact is that the woman who consider surgery would take advise from their not so blessed sister. Many also take advice from the surgeons also, the logic her is like asking a car salesman if you need a new car. I have also read an article that many doctors were to quick to recommend reduction and never considered muscle strengthening exercises.

The reason i am writing this now is that a neighbour has performed surgery. She had one of the most beautiful figure i have seen in real life. She was busty but not extremely. My girl friend has talked with her, and she went from 80H to 80C in bra size , that is according to an online calculator 36h to 36 c in US measures, big but not humongous. Her main argument was that she was simply tired of them, even she had some minor neck problems no and then this wasn't the main reason. (please don't judge me to hard, this was written with some humour)

Imagine if your testicles were the size of grapefruits.

k, i'm done.

I would have loved that, (if woman were crazy about them)

Xerxys 01-30-2010 06:46 AM

Actually 36c is the ideal size many women would like for breasts. It's a good average that isn't BIG and not small.

I also hate the fact that more and more women around the world are making less and less of my favourite playthings. But it's not up to me, it's up to the folk that bear them.

Craven Morehead 01-30-2010 07:06 AM

I know a woman that had hers reduced. She was never happier afterwards. She did it for herself, not the male population.

genuinegirly 01-30-2010 07:16 AM

I take it that you're not a woman?

A woman's reasoning for choosing to have a breast reduction isn't easily discussed. It's likely quite personal. It could have something to do with physiology, or it could simply be that she doesn't feel their size is right for her body. Regardless of your take on the situation, her happiness is really the only thing anyone should consider. A breast reduction is NOT the type of elective surgery any woman would choose to have because "everyone else is doing it" as you imply.

The amount of breast soreness a woman experiences during her cycle is typically proportional to the size of her breasts. It's enough to make me want to rip off my breasts every stinkin' month, and I'm honestly not that large. Also, 36h would give most women back-aches. Doubly so if they're thin. So, yes, I think breast reduction is a WONDERFUL voluntary surgery, and I give a thumbs-up to any woman who decides to do it.

What do you mean she was never happier? What is the point of doing something if it doesn't make you happy?

Jan71 01-30-2010 07:39 AM

But when considering pros and cons, i never see men's preferences in the balance sheet.
I also forgot tho mention that my neighbours, husband was against the reduction (not a surprise). In modern western society we are always looking for the easiest way out. If we are overweight we are looking for pills, not having the determination of the previous generation. Woman dress up for other woman. Being attractive to men is a bonus but not really that important. Some woman can dress up sexy no and then but what their men feel about their clothes isn't that important. I think breast reduction is the first sign of the collapse of the western society.

LoganSnake 01-30-2010 07:54 AM

Men's preference? Okay, I actually prefer smaller breasts. And since when is 80H is not overly busty? That's fricking huge.

Without going into intricate detail, when you mention "men's preferences" what you should type is "my preferences." For every man who doesn't like a woman performing a breast size reduction, there will be 10 who do like or simply don't care.

Besides, it's not your call.

36H to 36C? Jesus, 36C is pretty damn big.

I'm afraid of the gravitational pull of 36Hs.

Jeez ...

I don't know why I am surprised. I mean the whole premise of the thread was flawed but ...

I would agree but I really need some sort of reference. Actually, this entire thread needs reference pics.

On a more serious note, reduction is a happiness & health issue, and as such is entirely up to the person who actually grew those puppies, and cares for/carries them around. If you have some slim woman who wants to get them right down to zero for whatever reason, well - go for it.

btw Xerxys - you aren't really serious with your "happiness" question, are you? Are you? sheesh

So why should it be
You and I should
disagree so awfully?

snowy 01-30-2010 08:46 AM

Where's Shani? I want to see her weigh in on this. :p

As fun as big boobs may be, they have their downsides too. I know, hard to believe, isn't it? The things are heavy, and all that weight pulls on your chest wall, your pectoral muscles, your back muscles, your shoulder muscles, etc. They cause muscle strain and fatigue. Quite frankly, it hurts to have large breasts.

My own mother once wished she had larger breasts; she changed her mind after I went through puberty and she discovered that having big boobs (mine are 34Cs, which used to be big before plastic surgery) wasn't all it was cracked up to be. Not only is it painful, but they often bring unwanted attention. A friend's mechanical engineering professor once spent half an hour staring at my boobs from across a crowded bar. It was weird, disgusting, and made my companions and I uncomfortable; it was so obvious even my friends noticed. That is just one of many unwanted, undesirable things that have happened to me with my 34Cs...I can only imagine how much worse it gets the bigger they are.

Actually, I don't know if I'd call that a terribly large number. For a while I've had a funny quip about the Yellow Pages here in Toronto: "The two largest sections in the Yellow Pages are plastic surgeons and divorce lawyers." (It might actually be true...it's at least not that far off the mark.)

There's an "institute" for plastic surgery just down the street from me in a rowhouse that was converted from residential to commercial. It's just one of many that dot this city of 2.48 million people. Help me do the math: do you think there are more than 25 plastic surgery clinics in the City of Toronto? How many surgeries would they need to do per week to stay in business?

As an aside, plastic surgery has lost much of its taboo...in the same vein as tattooing and piercing.

JStrider 01-30-2010 11:09 AM

I'm all for methods of nonsurgical help and would advise any girl considering a breast reduction to pursue those methods first... has she gotten professionally measured/fitted and is wearing the correct bra size, worked to help strengthen shoulder and back muscles?

but having exhausted non surgical ways of helping, then by all means have the surgery...

my opinion stems more from the fact that I dont think anyone should rush into any type of major surgery, and any surgery where they knock you completely out should be considered major and not taken lightly.

Here I am :)

I had BR in 2006, I went from a 44F to a 40c and I'VE NEVER BEEN HAPPIER IN MY LIFE.

When my surgery was over they had taken 4 pounds off my chest, thats almost the weight of a normal bag of sugar.

THE OP stated the girl went from an H to a C, this is a HUGE difference, I was just an F and it meant 4 pounds, hers was probably between 6-8 pounds off.

I can find shirts that actually fit now, I can actually buy a dress because my top is proportionate with the rest of me, and being able to find clothes that fit and not live in XXX tshirts DOES give me more self esteem. I do not have to pay 4 times the price nor go to a specialty store to get bras, I can go into walmart and grab one for under 8 bucks. I've not had one single migraine in 3 years, I can stand at the sink and wash dishes without back pain, I can shop places with concrete floors without having to come home and take a muscle relaxer. I don't have to move my tits out of the way when I'm in the bathtub shaving my legs, I dont have to buy beach towels now because a normal bath sheet fits around me. I can actually go around without a bra and not be in excruciating pain. Do you know what its like to wake up in pain because you went to bed naked and your boobs got in the way when your husband rolled over in his sleep? Do I need to go on about the advantages? Because I certainly can.

IMO, any man that is against his S/O having BR is incredibly selfish and should have to carry around a bag of sugar strapped to his body, 24/7

The fall of western society should be put on the shoulders of men that would prefer their women endure the few reasons I listed above.

IF there is a negative to my experience if would be that a mammogram is much more painful now, BUT the results are much easier to see and I can endure that pain once a year in exchange for all the other pain I've gotten rid of (and the money I've saved on not having to buy bigger clothes)

Yes you are right seamaiden.
They are both 36H. According to google :
Christy Marks 36H aka H-cup Jerri Monet at Scoreland.com. However she looks more like a 36DD or something.

This are 36C : (according to her self)

A few more...I no longer have permanent indentations in my shoulders from my bras, I no longer get those annoying bumps under my boobs that get infected or sweat that stays there forever.

Dave loves the new boobs as much as he did the old ones and doesnt miss me crying in pain one bit

I also have better aim with my floggers and whips cause my boobs dont inhibit my swing :p

Merlocke 01-30-2010 10:49 PM

36H = Death by boobie.
Think about that for a minute - seriously.
One stripper - 36H, one mis-swing and your neck is iike... gone.

That's just too damn big. 36 C? Fine in my book.

Derwood 01-31-2010 08:40 AM

What most men don't know is that the cup size is always in relation to the ribcage size. In other words, a 32C and a 36C are completely different sizes. So a C cup sized breast is no so easily identifiable.

As a man, I only know this because my wife works for an underwear company :)

I wonder what the reaction would be from males if some lady posted:

k, i'm done.

I can relate to this.

I have a hydrocele problem which means I have one testicle the size of a lemon. I got it after my colon cancer operation a couple of years ago.

It wasn't bothersome at first, but I'm getting rather sick of it now. Mostly it bothers me when I sit on the toilet. I have to be extra careful! I can't imagine a grapefruit sized one.

I have an operation scheduled for the end of April. I can't wait!

wooÐs 01-31-2010 10:32 AM

I've been through some heavy duty weight fluctuations over the past 10'ish years. I've remained steady at my largest cup size - 40DD - for a few years now. Weight will fall off elsewhere but won't drop off of them. I love my girls though. Men do too and I won't bullshit anyone - I like the attention they get. I do show that cleavage as much as possible (flaunt your good parts, hide the bad, etc.) But I've started that back pain women talk about. If I bend over to clean something, scoop out a litter box, etc., I stand back up slightly out of breath and my back, throbbing. And opposite of Shani, I prefer no bra. If I've been out for 6+ hours and I get in the car to go home, guess what I do after I start my engine? I take off my fucking bra and shove it in my purse. Ok, well, most of it. Going braless is a great way to aim for tucking them in my pants a few years down the road. But I'm most comfortable that way. While they are attractive, they're not always fun and games. I don't think I could handle them if they got any bigger. At 35, I'd like to think they're done. But stranger things have happened. :/

genuinegirly 02-01-2010 09:26 AM

Nice link, flat5!

Makes me wonder how many of those 2-5 operations/week mentioned by the OP were done on males.

Martian 02-01-2010 09:43 AM

Those 36H breasts scare me. They just don't seem natural.

When Magpie lost weight, her boobs shrunk from a D cup to a C. I like them better now. They're perkier and more sensitive and all around more fun.

Bigger isn't always better.

While I love women and their bodies in general, I have always had a special place in my heart for smaller breasts. It ticks me off when people make fun of small breasts, in fact it kind of ticks me off when people make fun of anything people don't really have any control over like that.

And as many people have stated, if they are causing health problems then why not?

So is always wearing a bra. You have to balance between not damaging suspensory ligaments and not atrophying chest muscles. Chest exercises help, but most women won't do them because of the myth that they'll bulk up if they lift weights.

Australian censor board demands large-breasted porn-stars Boing Boing

Australian censor board demands large-breasted porn-stars
A reader writes, "Australian Classification Board (ACB) is now banning depictions of small-breasted women in adult publications and films. They banned mainstream pornography from showing women with A-cup breasts, apparently on the grounds that they encourage paedophilia, and in spite of the fact this is a normal breast size for many adult women. Presumably small breasted women taking photographs of themselves will now be guilty of creating simulated child pornography, to say nothing of the message this sends to women with modestly sized chests or those who favour them. Australia has also banned pornographic depictions of female ejaculation, a normal orgasmic sexual response in many women, with censors branding it as 'abhorrent.'"

The Board has also started to ban depictions of small-breasted women in adult publications and films. This is in response to a campaign led by Kids Free 2 B Kids and promoted by Barnaby Joyce and Guy Barnett in Senate Estimates late last year. Mainstream companies such as Larry Flint's Hustler produce some of the publications that have been banned. These companies are regulated by the FBI to ensure that only adult performers are featured in their publications. "We are starting to see depictions of women in their late 20s being banned because they have an A cup size", she said. "It may be an unintended consequence of the Senator's actions but they are largely responsible for the sharp increase in breast size in Australian adult magazines of late".
