Post Your Flag
Express your nationalism. Post your flag!
Instead of doing a poll, i thought it'd be more interesting if people posted the flag of their countries to see where everyone is from. It'd be interesting to see the mix and diversity of people in TFP If you are dual nationality, or of mixed ethnicity then post both or all if you feel the need. here is mine. took this pic last week when i was in Sydney. Australian of Lebanese origin. http://i165.photobucket.com/albums/u...9/IMG_7133.jpg Australia! http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_Gzhapvmss1...anese+Flag.jpg LEBANON! |

So, we'll go with that one, plus: http://www.houseofgordonusa.org/site...er-480x187.jpg For the ancestors from Clan Gordon of Scottland http://theamericanflagstore.com/library/UNIONJACK.gif http://theamericanflagstore.com/library/ST.gif For the ancestors who came over from England on the Mayflower (the St. George's Cross and King's Colors were flown over merchant ships of England at the time) https://www.galleryoftherepublic.com.../gadsen_fr.jpg For the ancestors who fought in the American Revolution As for me currently? This picture of these three will work: http://img31.imageshack.us/img31/810...3kngnvlfsq.jpg These represent my country and state, as well as the Navajo nation my daughter is a part of, through her mother. |

Plenty of United States flags already posted so I'll just post my state flag

I'm kinda irritated by all the people posting their flags without saying where they're from. There are 50 states in the USA and several more territories, ten provinces in Canada, and god knows how many other who-gives-a-fuck-if-you-don't-tell-us-who-the-fuck-you-are countries and non-countries. So... TELL US WHAT YOUR FLAG MEANS, or you're nothing but a fucking ass hat.
Thanks =) Meanwhile... I live in the USA. I'm a flag waving liberal. I currently live in Oregon (see above for the the ugly two sided flag). And I feel connected to the life and economy of what we call Cascadia. The Republic of Cascadia. These are the flags I've found proposed for our region: http://zapatopi.net/cascadia/casflagbg.gif http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedi...scadia.svg.png |

i was going to say it a bit more eloquently than pulp, but i guess its the message right? some of these flags i have no idea what they are or what they represent. especially the ones with the US states. the only truely universal flag is gucci's...talk about breaking through barriers |

I dunno, I'm kinda on the otherside of that 'observation'... I like trying to guess where the flags are from. Adds a dimension. At any rate, I did update mine to inlcude the countries, but I didn't get into a discussion of the symbology. |
I am an American, so we'll start with that:
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...gl/us-flag.jpg I also live in the sovereign state of Alabama: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...a_Map_Flag.gif My "ethnicity" is a mixture of Southern, http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...onfederacy.gif Irish, http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...eagl/irish.gif and Scottish. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...reagl/scot.jpg At the college where I teach, we are "The Pirates," and this fictionalized flag of Jack Rackham flies around all our sports fields and in my band room. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...ackrackham.jpg By the way, the study of flags is called vexillogy, and there is a monster website here that will tell you everything you ever wanted to know about 79,000 different flags. |
