hello my name is apeman and i'm an alcoholic

well, not really, i just like drinking (denial stage?).

anyway, I have several deep and important questions. Mostly to do with music, the fractal nature of the universe and running. Is using apostrophes correctly a sign of petit bourgouisie-ness? What should I put in my hydration bladder to ensure that my legs will still work after 20km, or 13 miles, whichever comes sooner? What is the drink that most makes people grimace after drinking (I think it's either tequila or calvados).

I will contribute as soon as they return my credit card, ta,

apeman

I applaud your ability to still type without flaws, even if coherence seems to be going out the window.
I have to agree with Lasereth and ask : "How many so far?"

Well I guess in that case I just like to drink alot, with Punk.of.Ages. And going to meetings means you think you have a problem with drinking, I don't. I don't get violent or negligent I'm just happy and stress free for awhile.

No need to worry about Apostrophe's my son.
It is those sneaky hermaphrodite like semi-colons,
you need to keep an eye on. ( wildly paraphrasing - Vonnegut, I believe.)

It isn't.

It was quite a few beers, I wasn't counting. I don't find alcholism funny either, having seen it in action occassionally, but I do have to laugh at myself being such a tosser sometimes. I may have a breakfast beer to wash the coffee down.

I like to drink most things, but usually stick to beer. Perhaps I am just a very enthusiastic social drinker. Tequila is probably the most fun spirit to drink.

I don't have a problem with semi-colons but thanks for reminding me that I've been meaning to read Slaughterhouse 5 for the last ten years or so ... I found your quote:

Quote:
Here is a lesson in creative writing. First rule: Do not use semicolons. They are transvestite hermaphrodites representing absolutely nothing. All they do is show you've been to college.

Hmmm. What to put in your hydration bladder? I would go for water, mainly because I have a difficult time cleaning those things out after using anything else.

Good point. I haven't tried it yet so haven't had to wash it out. I've got some brewer's bottle wash which should do a good job - I'll let you know if it works. I think I'll test it with Powerade (powdered sports drink) and see how much of a pain it is to wash, and then try water, and see if there's much difference in how much it helps. Thanks for the tip though, I'm the kind of person who leaves things to go mouldy ...

I was also wondering how it works out, carrying an extra 2 kilos or so around, but being better hydrated ... I guess it starts to be worth it for long runs.

Falling into a comfortable rhythmn of breathing while running,
I do remember well.
I miss being able to run,
my knees couldn't handle it after age 35.

I mostly ran only five to eight miles.
In- one two three,
out-one two three.

Drinking water caused a stitch in my side that was difficult to run off.
Small sips of watered down Gatorade worked well.

fractal time:

Who are you to tell people what is and isn't funny? Context is everything. While I don't think the concept of alcoholism is funny, there are particular examples of alcoholics that are funny as hell.

Put water in the hydration bladder. 20KM I'd probably carry 3 gallons with me in Texas. It's hot as hell here.

Apostrophes are necessary to language to help reinforce an image in another person's head. persons head wouldn't make sense, because it would be the plural of person, as in, more than one person. It does not show ownership of anything, and instead derails the entire argument.

You need your apostrophes!

As for drinks that make people grimace, well, gubernija, for 1$ a 20oz bottle of 9% alcohol beer, it's made a lot of my friends make all kinds of crazy faces.
