TFP Donations

http://www.tfproject.org/tfp/general...ion-drive.html

Last year around October Halx put out another message soliciting donations. Donations have trickled in, but have slowed to nothing again. If you've kept up with his blog, you'll know that he is working on some of his own challenges at the moment. I've asked him how I can help and the best thing that I can do at this moment is solicit a donation stream.

Click the link to go to the donation page. If you don't or can't use paypal and would like to send via snail mail send a PM for information.

If you have any questions please ask I'll try to answer them.

Alright, FINE. Here's my lunch money.

snowy 02-12-2009 09:06 AM

I'm just glad to have money to spare this time around! :)

kramus 02-12-2009 09:10 AM

Always easier when you make it a one-click affair. Thanks Cyn, I was just thinking about this the other day and now it's done.

JumpinJesus 02-12-2009 09:23 AM

I don't know if this is even a feasible solution or not, but have you checked into hosted servers? These days, a lot of hosting services offer unlimited storage and unlimited bandwidth and they do it very cheaply.

I could be talking out my ass with this, but wouldn't it be a cheaper solution than hundreds of dollars a month housing tfp's own servers?

Cynthetiq 02-12-2009 09:36 AM

Thanks everyone for your donations!

jj, you're right if our current traffic falls lower then it does become a bit more feasible to use an unlimited hosting VPS solution. At this point it isn't an option.

Yeah, you've got me hitting the refresh button every 3 seconds from 9 PM to 3 AM.

I won't be able to donate this time. Crompsin has a huge amount of what used to be my money, and now my bank account is writhing in pain.

Sorry.

Pfft... it's okay, you have a huge amount of what used to be my life.

Don't worry, I donated for the both of us.

BadNick 02-12-2009 01:33 PM

Fortunately, my broker reported that I was high enough up the ponzi pyramid that I can afford to do my share here...or is it low enough? I should fire the damn broker.

n0nsensical 02-12-2009 10:08 PM

Going back to work Tuesday, so I've got some bucks earmarked for TFP in approximately 2 weeks! Thanks for helping me through the old unemployment.

You can forward me the money in small, unmarked bills and I'll use my card.

dippin 02-12-2009 10:42 PM

Im new here, but I did my (albeit small) part

sadistikdreams 02-13-2009 12:35 AM

I donated. Do I get a "Donor" title?

healer 02-13-2009 01:22 AM

I can't remember my credit card number. :|

I'll pitch in later this evening.

If the TFP was the government:

Due to budget constraints, the TFP will be unable to furnish "Donor" titles.

Donor titles are silly, anyway. They distract from my custom user title, which is totally the most important thing ever.

Careful, bub. I'll change your title to "smooth spot", "Jazz's bitch boy" or something equally witty.

Halx, mine will get done tonight or this weekend.

genuinegirly 02-13-2009 02:18 PM

Done. Not much, but something.

Keep donating guys, I did my bit ;)

healer 02-20-2009 06:43 AM

Damn, this PayPal thing's a long-winded story. I'm waiting for my account to be 'approved'. :/

lostgirl 02-20-2009 10:24 AM

It's not much, but I'm glad I could help.

Cynthetiq 02-20-2009 10:30 AM

thanks for everyone making an attempt at donating this time around.

Healer I don't know what to say about that... something similar happened with another person.

Plan9 02-20-2009 02:20 PM

Attempt? Where's my receipt?! :P

candyman 02-24-2009 12:33 PM

Although it was not much, I did contribute... Hope to do more later.

Cynthetiq 03-15-2009 03:59 PM

Thank you all for donating this round. Please take note that you'll see a request for donations at the beginning of the month and will end once we've gotten the goal amount.

At the moment I don't think that I will leave it up the whole month. If you see it, you'll know that we're soliciting donations. Once it goes away, you'll know that the goal has been reached.

Thank you again.

ryfo 03-16-2009 01:44 AM

Did my bit, well, did a little bit. By the time its converted from Aussie dollars to US money, it may not be much at all!!

It sorted itself out after a few days. Good thing I did it before the Rand lost ground against the mighty Greenback.

Sweet. I'm glad to see my modest contribution yesterday helped meet the goal for the month.

Spiritsoar 09-06-2009 09:07 PM

Just out of idle curiosity, after I donate, why does the 'Return to Merchant' button take me to 'TFP -> FAQ -> Smilie List' ?
