The George Foreman Grill. God, i hated that fucking thing! My ex made me buy it cause when we moved our 2nd floor apt didn't have anywhere for the BBQ, so we 'had' to get an indoor grill. Incredible fat draining technology, my ass! When I moved again, (she had already moved without the goddamn thing), I took it to the Sally Ann and left it at the drop off. Good riddance!

i'm with roachboy...........piece of garbage we have here. |
I like mine, but all I ever use it for is melting butter for other recipes and making popcorn.
|
My coffee machine, I love, because I depend on coffee. But it's no longer working and I now loathe it.

I suppose I could just cut the wires and wire them together to have it set to constant on, same problem with hard floors there too. *sigh* cheap plastic switches :shakehead: |

http://fantes.com/images/15681coffee-manualdrip.jpg It only makes a single cup of coffee at a time, but it's a good backup to have around, as all it needs is ground coffee and hot water to work. We're a little tricked out with coffee paraphernalia at our house--we have two of these, a French press, a fancy-dancy programmable coffee maker with built-in grinder and thermal carafe, a cheapie Mr. Coffee coffee maker, and two other grinders. So even if something broke, we would have a backup. That's good as I also depend on coffee. |

Give me a pocket map and I'm in business and no one knows where I am!! As for my original thought, I hate my microwave. Not because it doesn't work but because I only use it for popcorn and to melt butter. Food tastes much better warmed in the oven. -----Added 26/11/2008 at 08 : 22 : 44----- Quote:

After four tries, I finally have a microwave that can cook popcorn. I suppose the last three technically did cook it, but they also set it on fire.

Man, I miss the North Oregon Coast. And ItWasMe, I laughed so hard at your post that I had tears in my eyes. |
Quote:
I do too, but I don't miss the cold rain. Yes Itwasme's had me laughing too. Yet thinking, hum... is this really that bad an idea? BTW- my house is about 12 miles east of Astoria little south of HWY 30. Currently leased to the Coast Guard. Probably form for a Mod to thread jack so... Another appliance I hate is my Magic Bullet. At least one other mention on here for this product. Magic my ass. The only magic preformed by this POS shit is separating people from their money. Someone said they "crushed ice once." My thought was really? Was the ice already half way crushed... 'cause mine won't do that. POS. |
Tully, I feel the same way about my parents' central vacuum system as you do about your dyson. Didn't realize how spoiled I was until I moved away.
Appliances I hate: Food processor. Not just any food processors - just the broken one that my mother in law still uses because she doesn't want to bother getting one that's functional. Refrigerator. See reason above. Garage refrigerator. See reason above. Garage door opener. See reason above. I swear this place isn't falling apart, just a few critical pieces. |
Clocks....always with their incessant ticking.
|
I hate using my family's computer. This thing is so slow. My littlest sister has loaded this thing with so much crap.
|
Adding the smoke detectors in my apartment to the list.
They are SO FREAKIN SENSITIVE. Just a wisp of smoke is enough to set them off. And all three of them go off, all at once. Its almost impossible to cook or broil anything in here. And I know its not just me, because throughout the day I can hear the melodious beeping from the floors beneath me. |
i have Kitchen Aid Appliances.
Pieces of shit, everyone of them (except the fridge, for some reason, the fridge works.) All are about 2001 or so. Washer - Broken 3 times. Last time I fixed it myself by diagnosing from a site on the web. Drier - For some reason, every once in a while, the drum siezes up. I need to spin it by hand to free it up. Oven - biggest piece of shit ever. Broken down 3 times now. The last time, it just didn't heat anything up. Cooktop, one knob doesn't turn properly, when you turn the gas on, it doesn't always ignite the gas. Long and short of it, I found out that Whirlpool makes pretty much every appliance in North America now. Whirlpool (obviously) Kitchen Aid Amana Maytag Kenmore Inglis |
can openers. i don't get them. i prefer the manual can openers...

hey honey let's have frozen pizza for dinner...sounds good let me just put the pizza in the fridge, it'll be charred up in a minute |
I had an electric can opener from hell - that I had to put outta it's misery and toss in the trash! The newer old-fashioned hand held opener works much better and doesn't try to chew off my thumb when I use it.
EEEeeeks!! |

In the absence of carpets -- which i dislike as much as vacuum cleaners -- a broom is perfectly adequate. It is quiet, simple, and effective. |
I sell appliance insurance for a living. This is a rich vein of knowledge for my day to day
work. I'm not kidding. I do this shitty job to feed and clothe my daughter. Additionally, what I sell is somewhat worthwhile. It's okay if you wish to insure products that have cost you a lot in the past. Maybe then you are cursed. But a buy a service plan, NEVER a warranty. Get parts and labour costs out of the way. Warranties generally suck. Don't worry, I'm not trying to sell anything here. Just stating it as it is. Chris |
Anything that vibrates my hands too much.. saws, sanders, leaf blowers, snow blowers etc.
|
I have to think a bit to find appliances I don't hate. All large appliances are hated except the gas stove and it will probably make the list soon. My dual fuel heat pump is the most despised. 15 years of service calls and it is working at only about 65% capacity as I type.
|
I am an in appliance sales so most of mine are really good. As someone stated on page one, Miele is an incredable D/W. I love my Sub Zero ref. and wolk range.

I think I have that same dishwasher, what an annoying POS. They aren't all this bad. My parents just bought a new GE, middle of the line model. It's virtually silent, We can actually carry on a conversation standing next to it. The difference is in the insulation. My el cheapo GE has a thin fiberglass blanket covering the box. Their's has a layer of insulating foam covered with a dense fiber glass blanket, world of difference. I'm thinking a couple of cans of 'Great Stuff' are going to solve the problem until I can get a new one. .. |
Add my ceiling fans to the list. They all only have a low setting. When I turn a fan on, I want gale force winds blowing down on me, not mouse farts.
|
I hate pretty much all of our small appliances, because when my wife takes them out to use, she neither cleans them nor puts them away. In a week, there is no counter space left :-(

I can relate to this one, it is now part of my cooking routine. turn on oven, take down smoke detector. turn oven off, put smoked detector back. bastard. oddly today i purchased a fire extinguisher out of the blue. saw one on the wall at the store, realized i don't have one and purchased one for my kitchen. |

I hate juicers. They're difficult to clean (usually) and take out too much of the good stuff. I prefer a blender.
I also hate it when people complain about their dishwashers. I haven't had access to a dishwasher since 1998. :) |
Garbage disposals whisper evil self-destructive bloody horrorshow ideas.
InSinkErators want to eat my hand. |
::::looks up and over at the woman who speaks like river movement::::
ah..ring...:::sparking eyes:::CD speaks highly of you! I myself loathe anything electronic. Ask CD what face I wear when he starts speaking electronicese to me.... appliances? food processors are dungeon crackers of bones..waiting for my fingers... Quote:
