We're sorry for the long delay in getting this boat in the water. But, you know, it called for us to stop smoking pot and watching '70s porn in the breakroom, and dammit, it's really hard to pull yourself away from that scene sometimes. Some of you may understand.

But anyway, we are ready to officially accept nominations. And we would like to start from scratch with private nominations.

Here are the categories:

You may place your votes by PM'ing me directly with your nominations.
Do not vote on this thread!!
I have cleared my mailbox for this very purpose!

Nominations on the original thread will not be counted, so be sure to vote again even if you already placed your votes there.

If you have any questions about how this is going to work, feel free to message me or any of the other mods, or you may post your question on this thread.

Deadline for nominations will be Friday, June 27th.

What color is your background? I have the same standard green that I have had for 4 years, I like to call if TFP green

I use the TFP Green as well.

jorgelito - try changing your scheme in the lower left hand corner and you can see the colored text very clearly. I'd hate to make it red or something. That would just be obnoxious...

Mine has a white background now, I used the green for 4 1/2 years and got tired of it so yeah, cant read the yellow but oh well lol

I changed it back to white...which I am assuming is black in your scheme?

yep I can see it now (though Im accustomed to highlighting stuff so I can read it since I choose to have a white back ground lol)

i miss the yellow already...

at some point, I just need to accept that I can not make everyone happy...

yes yes...I know ... I'm hoping that we can one day upgrade TFP to the latest vb and have some new themes to pick... kind of to give this place a new renovation.

Well voting has started, cough 'em up.

Maybe there's nothing extraordinarily significant about the distinctions. They seem pretty cut and dry. Maybe you're attaching a significance to them that offends you in some way, but I think you're pushing the drama quotient for no reason.

i'm not sure what purpose they serve other than to elevate some posters above others

Since the awards are, conceivably, to be doled out monthly the elevation isn't so great. For instance, there's very little chance I'm going to win one of these, but I don't feel anyone is elevated above me in the least. I don't really get the grief.

And Redlemon, I'm not sure how to answer those questions, yet, lol. I'll get back with you soon.

Derwood, I think it goes without saying that you won't win an award if you don't do something noticeably beneficial to the board. The tradeoff is that if you DO do something beneficial to the board, you also become popular. So to call this a popularity contest is missing the point. It is a "contest" between people who have become popular for being good for the board.

That's for damn sure!!!

Once these questions are answered, I'll vote, but I'd prefer to have these issues clarified first.

I have voted. The great thing was having several people come to mind for many of the categories. I think many of you don't know how greatly your contributions are appreciated.

1. Are previous winners eligible to win?
Yes, but only once per (3) month period. For example, whomever receives the distinction of 'Tilted Presenter' in this round (being announced on July 1st, but presumably being awarded for contributions made during the month of June), will not be eligible to win again until the round that will be announced on September 1st. We will detail who has won the previous months in our nomination threads as a reminder of who is ineligible during any particular month.
The one possible exception to this rule might be 'Tilted Natural,' as ideally this should be bestowed on a unique new member each time.

If any of this is unclear, be sure to ask.

And, please keep in mind, this is a community experiment. We may find, as we go along, that the system needs tweaking, changes need to be made, etc. and it would be beneficial to everyone if we didn't take it all too seriously. It's supposed to be fun and good. Just a way to show that we appreciate each other.

The problem I have, even though I post here quite a bit, I dont know really who the moderators are, i dont really have in mind who joined recently or not, so I probably wouldnt vote in those categories. But I'll have a think about the other categories.

Yep, sorry, forgot to say that I voted last night...

I didn't realize that this was only for the month of June's contributions. I was kind of thinking of TFP in recent history, not just during June... oh well. Will keep that in mind for next month.

Well, you can really think of it in any way that you choose. It just makes it easier to explain if you narrow it down. Naturally, long-standing contributions are going to make a difference in people's votes. Kind of like the Oscars. :lol:
