I'm from Anchorage, and 4 of us are coming down to Orlando for the Bowl Expo next month.

We were interested in going to to Devil Rays game, but we aren't renting a car, as everything for the Expo we need to be at is within easy walking distance. Is there a bus or something we can get from Orlando to Tampa Bay? Where can I find some info on that? How far is it?

I would appreciate any info, as I know virtually nothing about Florida!

There are 4 of you, why not rent a car for the day? Probably much less of a headache than taking buses (yes, plural) point-to-point. Car rental is a huge industry in Orlando, they will be happy to help you with that. :P

a bus to tampa would take FOREVER! i lived in Haines City, closer to Tampa than Orlando, and it was an hour and a half-ish trip in a car to get to tampa.

yeah, a bus would be torture.

Orlando is not a city in which to rely on public transportation. It's against our religion.

The car rental idea is the best one for going to Tampa, but walking is definitely the best idea while you're at the Convention Center. Traffic is a nightmare down there.
